1 in 4 people who are homeless in Ireland are children.
Homelessness is an Adverse Childhood Experience - a trauma that leaves potentially life long impacts.
How do we tolerate this?
How has this become normal?
Dear Little Girl with the beautiful voice,
My husband and I wrote this song as part of a story about healing a family in pain. The way you sing it is like a magic trick that spreads the light in your heart and heals everyone who hears it. Keep singing! We are listening!
in days, whole countries changed their visa policies and opened up borders. hotels are offering free rooms for refugees. these are great moves but all they show me is sympathy for people devastated by war was always possible. it was just reserved for people who don’t look like us
People are asking me why I endorsed the use of "We're Not Gonna Take It" for the Ukrainian people and did not for the anti-maskers. Well, one use is for a righteous battle against oppression; the other is a infantile feet stomping against an inconvenience.
@orlamcdermott@niamh_dr Here Carnivale starts this Thursday (giovedì grasso) and goes for 6 days until Tuesday (martedì grasso) 😄🙈🍩 Eat all of the fried things! 🎭
@michellecorry@niamh_dr That’s been discussed for a long time (at least my 18 years as a coeliac) but AFAIA there hasn’t been an definitive link proven. Deficiencies of good bacteria in the gut (which coeliacs often lack) are being studied as a possible link I believe.
@orlamcdermott@niamh_dr Italy is definitely the best place I’ve ever been as a coeliac. In the tiniest villages with two pizzerias, one will cater for coeliacs. I’m spoiled in Sardina and get fresh bread and pastries delivered every week from Free Gustoso like these fatti fritti for carnivale 😋😋
@niamh_dr Yes, but there are some incredible gluten-free patisseries like @NOGLUPARIS, cafes like https://t.co/Cg5jTwNVzD, and https://t.co/DNFEJEWew1. This might help too: https://t.co/33DPi5vEmj
