Air Force Senior Airman Roger Fortson was serving our country honorably when a cop banged on the wrong apartment door and immediately shot him 6 times, killing him.

He was on a FaceTime call with someone when this went down. That person co formed Fortson could not have been causing a disturbance at that time.

Question for the 2A crowd: Is it illegal to open your front door holding a firearm if you aren’t sure who’s there?

…even if it’s a cop knocking on the door?

Is that an action that carries the death penalty?

The coward cop opened fire because he saw a young black man with a gun and overreacted. There was no warning or opportunity to put it down.

There aren’t enough people talking about this. An Okaloosa County Sheriff officer shot and killed Senior Airman Roger Fortson. This is the same county that shot 20+ rounds at a police vehicle that had a person detained sitting in the back seat because he heard an acorn fall.
They barged into the wrong apartment and shot him six times. He had a legal firearm, he was the one who was acting in self defense because he didn’t know who was breaking down his door, he couldn’t see who was at his door through the peephole.
My family was stationed at Hurlburt Field from 2016-2020 and I can confidently say that the cops are so racist it’s insane. Don’t let Okaloosa County Sheriff’s department get away with and sweep their behavior under the rug.
