The nature of words as shapes is not unclean by itself. The ability of words to serve the purpose of conveying an idea or emotion, or to have a theological aspect is based on certain conventions. For instance, “the same phonetic combination could be understood as neutral or mild in some situation or highly charged in another case”. Special claims about the name of God and the ability of the Holy Ghost through prayers have nothing to do with seeing a simple word as the holy one. The remarks of our church fathers show how breaking the known rules works, but they do not prove that these rules are based on something other than linguistic conventions. You may agree with any religious or pastoral ideas or beliefs about human speech, but you are free to consider that some words are filthy or unclean by their nature.
