@worqas I visited Gwadar Port five years ago, it had only one s-to-s crane, so it didn’t seem ready for busines. In contrast, Karachi has two ports with multiple terminals, including a fully operational deep-sea terminal, while Gwadar remains underdeveloped with limited utilization.
@Haqiqatjou HEs MBZ, MBR & King Abdullah are 65 or older. Many at that age don’t fast due to health. Even otherwise, it’s personal matter. Also looks like Maghrib time so they may have already broken their fast. Focus on your own ebadat brother!
@jasveer10 This is an absurd take. A house isn’t just for living, it’s family wealth, an asset. If parents don’t build assets, what should they do- spend everything?
Real estate gives the next generation a foundation (down payment, collateral, rental income) it’s not useless.
@FaseehMangi Immigration counters r always limited to 3-4 open, officers often clueless. Once I was travelling, staff didn’t even know Seychelles is a country. Then another person checks if the first one stamped correctly. Feels like either pure incompetence or some bizarre anti-Karachi bias.
@worqas What about the land under DHAs, Fed authorities like Railways, KPT, CAA etc, huge cantonments and DMCs headed by commissioners. There is no unified governance system. Ppl in real power don’t want this city to thrive. Karachi isn’t mismanaged, it’s structured to fail.
@FarhanGMallick@hunainkapadia@murtazawahab1 Mayor covers ~30% of Karachi, so mostly optics. Commissioner has admin power, Province controls funds, Federation & military control cantonments & housing lands. Mayor, Commissioner, Cantonments & Fed departments controlling land should all be called for an interview.
@FarhanGMallick@MehrTarar Completely agree it’s beyond ethnic blame. But any honest diagnosis must include how Karachi is structurally denied authority, funds, and unified governance. Corruption thrives where accountability is impossible.
Karachi is kept in a state of managed dysfunction.
@_baqai Honestly, even PTI seems indifferent. Karachi has been abandoned politically. What remains is a quiet but persistent discrimination: racial, ethnic, and based on a Mohajir label that should’ve ended decades ago.
@SindhuSorath Karachi’s urban infrastructure were developed mainly under British rule after 1843. Before that it was a small fishing village. Historian Hamida Khuhro also wrote about how colonial rule and post-Partition migration transformed Karachi into a major metropolis.
@SindhuSorath Karachi wasn’t built by Sindh’s rulers. They never truly owned it even in pre-colonial times, and post-1947 Sindh didn’t build it either. The British made Karachi a metropolitan city, and federal govt expanded it until the capital moved.
@Adljaferi Karachi wasn’t Sindh’s creation. Borders don’t equal ownership. The British built it into a real city, then the federal govt developed it as Pakistan’s capital. The only ‘Sindh stamp’ left is the same broken infrastructure seen across the province
