جب میرے والد صاحب ہم کا انتقال ہوا تو میں بارہویں جماعت میں پڑھتا تھا اور اپنے گھر میں سب سے بڑا تھا۔ ہمارا تعلق کسی جاگیردارانہ یا صنعتی پس منظر سے نہیں بلکہ ایک عام درمیانے طبقے سے تھا۔ محنت اور یکسوئی کے ساتھ میں نے بیرونِ ملک اعلیٰ تعلیم حاصل کی اور پھر اپنے ملک کی خدمت کے لیے واپس لوٹ آیا۔ میں نے عوامی خدمت کے میدان میں آنے کے لیے دس سال کا ہدف مقرر کیا تھا، لیکن اللہ تعالیٰ کے فضل اور محنت سے میں نے وہ منزل سات سال میں ہی حاصل کر لی۔

آج اگر میں کابینہ کے اس اہم مقام پر پہنچ کر ملک و قوم کی خدمت کر رہا ہوں تو یہ صرف اور صرف محنت، لگن اور اللہ کے کرم کا نتیجہ ہے۔ مجھے پورا یقین ہے کہ ہمارے نوجوانوں کو بھی صرف اپنے اہداف اور منزل پر نظر رکھنی ہے اور محنت کرنی ہے۔ جب میں ایک عام درمیانے طبقے سے نکل کر اس مقام تک پہنچ سکتا ہوں، تو ہمارے ملک کا کوئی بھی باصلاحیت نوجوان اپنی منزل حاصل کر سکتا ہے!
