CALL TO THE PUBLIC FROM THE ANKARA PALESTINE SOLIDARITY PLATFORM

WE CONDEMN THE OBSTRUCTION OF THE PALESTINE CONVOY AT THE IBRAHIM KHALIL BORDER CROSSING!

The Palestine Convoy initiative, which includes nearly five hundred participants from twenty different countries and from different faiths, languages, and religions, set out from Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and traveled through Montenegro, Albania, Greece, and Türkiye before exiting through the Habur Border Gate. However, upon attempting to enter Iraq, the convoy has been held at the Ibrahim Khalil Border Crossing and is not being permitted to proceed.

Setting out with the message, “Let the West Bank not become another Gaza,” the Palestine Convoy embarked on this journey for the freedom of Palestine, the end of the occupation, the cessation of the massacre and genocide taking place in Gaza, and the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people. We do not accept the fact that the Palestine Convoy is being held at the Ibrahim Khalil Border Crossing and prevented from proceeding; we condemn and protest this obstruction.

In the face of the severe humanitarian crisis endured by the Palestinian people, it is unacceptable to obstruct civil society initiatives aimed at solidarity. We believe that the convoy, which set out to deliver humanitarian aid and demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinian people, must be allowed to continue its journey safely and without obstruction.

It is clear that Israel, the Mediterranean pirate that obstructed SUMUD in international waters, is also directly responsible for these obstructions. The fact that the Palestine Convoy, which is based on peaceful civil activism, has been classified as a priority threat in an Israeli intelligence report should be taken into consideration, as it points to the source of potential sabotage, manipulation, attacks, and threats.

On this occasion;

Our call to the Iraqi authorities is as follows:

The obstacles faced by the Palestine Convoy at the Ibrahim Khalil Border Crossing must be removed immediately, and the convoy must be allowed to continue its journey safely. Furthermore, we demand that the necessary facilitation and support be provided along the convoy’s route within Iraq and that the measures required to ensure the safe continuation of its onward journey be taken.

Our call to the authorities of the Republic of Türkiye is as follows:

We expect all relevant institutions and authorities, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to take urgent action to resolve the problem faced by the Palestine Convoy, which set out from Bosnia and Herzegovina with participants from twenty different countries, including citizens of the Republic of Türkiye, and which is based on civil activism. We further expect the necessary diplomatic contacts to be established with the Iraqi authorities and initiatives to be undertaken to remove the obstacles standing in the convoy’s way.

We value this solidarity demonstrated by people from different parts of the world who have come together for the freedom, dignity, and right to life of the Palestinian people.

We once again declare that the Palestinian people are not alone.

We want humanitarian aid to be delivered, not obstructed; we want solidarity to be supported, not hindered.

The way must be opened for the Palestine Convoy, its journey must be secured, and all obstacles to humanitarian solidarity must be removed.

FİLİSTİN KONVOYUNUN İBRAHİM HALİL SINIR KAPISI’NDA ENGELLENMESİNİ KINIYORUZ!
Yirmi farklı ülkeden, farklı inanç dil ve dinden beş yüze yakın katılımcının yer aldığı Filistin Konvoyu girişimi, Bosna Hersek’in Srebrenitsa kentinden yola çıkarak Karadağ, Arnavutluk, Yunanistan ve Türkiye üzerinden geçip Habur Sınır Kapısı’ndan çıkış yapmıştır. Ancak Irak’a girişte, İbrahim Halil Sınır Kapısı’nda bekletilmekte ve geçişine izin verilmemektedir.
Batı Şeria Gazze olmasın diyerek yola çıkan Filistin Konvoyu, Filistin’in özgürlüğü, işgalin sona ermesi, Gazze’de yaşanan katliam ve soykırımın durdurulması ve insani yardımların bir an önce Filistin halkına ulaştırılması amacıyla yola çıkan Filistin konvoyunun İbrahim Halil Sınır Kapısı’nda bekletilmesini ve geçişinin engellenmesini kabul etmiyor, telin ve protesto ediyoruz.
Filistin halkının yaşadığı ağır insani kriz karşısında sivil toplumun dayanışma girişimlerinin önünün kesilmesi kabul edilemez. İnsani yardım ulaştırmak ve Filistin halkıyla dayanışma göstermek amacıyla yola çıkan konvoyun güvenli ve engelsiz şekilde yoluna devam etmesi gerektiğine inanıyoruz.
SUMUD'u uluslararası sularda engelleyen Akdeniz Korsanı İsrail’in bu engellemelerin de ilk elden sorumlusu olduğu açıktır. Şiddetten uzak sivil aktivizmi esas alan Filistin Konvoyu’nun İsrail'in İstihbarat Raporu’nda öncelikli tehdit kapsamına alınmış olması sabotaj, manipülasyon, saldırı ve tehditlerin adresini göstermesi açısından dikkate alınmalıdır.
Bu vesileyle;
Irak makamlarına çağrımızdır:
Filistin konvoyunun İbrahim Halil Sınır Kapısı’nda karşı karşıya kaldığı engeller derhal kaldırılmalı, konvoyun güvenli bir şekilde yoluna devam etmesine izin verilmelidir. Bununla beraber konvoyun Irak içerisindeki güzergâhında gerekli kolaylık ve desteğin sağlanmasını ve sonraki yolculuğunun güvenli şekilde sürdürülebilmesi için gereken tedbirlerin alınmasını talep ediyoruz.
Türkiye Cumhuriyeti makamlarına da çağrımızdır:
Yirmi farklı ülkeden katılımcıyla Bosna Hersek’ten yola çıkan ve içinde Türkiye Cumhuriyeti vatandaşlarının da bulunduğu sivil aktivizmi esas alan Filistin Konvoyu’nun karşılaştığı sorunun çözümü için Dışişleri Bakanlığı başta olmak üzere ilgili tüm kurum ve makamların ivedilikle harekete geçmesini, Irak makamlarıyla gerekli diplomatik temasların kurulmasını ve konvoyun önündeki engellerin kaldırılması için girişimlerde bulunulmasını bekliyoruz.
Filistin halkının özgürlüğü, onuru ve yaşam hakkı için dünyanın farklı bölgelerinden insanların bir araya gelerek ortaya koyduğu bu dayanışmayı değerli buluyoruz.
Filistin halkının yalnız olmadığını bir kez daha ilan ediyoruz.
İnsani yardımların engellenmesini değil, ulaştırılmasını; dayanışmanın engellenmesini değil, desteklenmesini istiyoruz.
Filistin Konvoyu’nun önü açılmalı, yolculuğu güvence altına alınmalı ve insani dayanışmanın önündeki tüm engeller kaldırılmalıdır.
