My story is rooted in Utah. Born and raised here by Somali immigrant parents, I grew up in a community that cherished service and the belief that when people come together, anything is possible.

Utah leads the nation in service and care; it’s time we had a government that actually follows our example. I’m stepping up to put our community’s voices at the center of the conversation.

I detest quoting colonial history, but what Gerald Hanley, a British soldier, observed about Somalis during his stint in #Somalia in the 1940s is profound and relevant today, given the assault on Somali-Americans in #Minnesota.

“Somalis have no inferiority complexes, no wide-eyed worship of the white man’s ways and no fear of him, of his guns or his official anger. They are a race to be admired, if hard to love.”

If u are in the #DMV & need HVAC repairs/new unit, NEVER purchase from @CyprusAir_HVAC. By far the worst customer service, defective products, & absolutely no accountability. I bought a brand new unit 2yrs ago and have already put more than $2k in repairs! Do they care...NOPE
