When Eisenhower was asked why the United States did not allow the 1956 Vietnamese reunification elections agreed upon at Geneva, he answered with unusual honesty.

He said that if elections were held, Hồ Chí Minh would win with approximately 80 percent of the vote.

So they cancelled the elections.

Think about that every time an American politician talks about "spreading democracy."

They cancelled the democratic election because the "wrong" person would win.

They then spent the next two decades killing people to prevent the government that would have been democratically elected from taking power.

And they called the other side anti-democratic.

This is not ancient history.

This is the logic that still governs every "democracy promotion" operation today.

Democracy is acceptable when it produces the "right" results.

When it does not, you cancel the election, back a coup, fund the opposition, impose sanctions, and call the government that the people actually chose a "dictatorship."

Vietnam exposed this logic completely.

Not with arguments.

With history.

With the receipts.

Cuba before the revolution was a horror show. Bankrolled by the Mafia, US intelligence and wealthy US businessmen, dictator Fulgencio Batista's reign of terror knew no bounds. They gouged out political prisoner Abel Santamaría's eyes in front of his family. The bodies of hundreds of political prisoners showed signs of severe torture. Anyone suspected of opposing the government could be rounded up, imprisoned, tortured or even executed in the street.

Batista's Bureau for the Repression of Communist Activites, which carried out the torture and extrajudicial killings, was trained by the CIA - at the same time the US government was carrying out a program of political repression against suspected communists in the US in which labor organizers, journalists and members of the Hollywood elite were targeted, leaving their careers and lives in ruin.

The American Mafia in Cuba, led by Meyer Lanksy, Lucky Luciano and Santo Trafficante, Jr., paid Batista to kill, torture and intimidate any suspected Cuban dissenters - with the goal of keeping Havana "safe" and quiet so their empire of drug trafficking, human trafficking and gambling could continue unabated.

The belief that pre-revolution Cuba was anything but a deadly despotic hellhole run by gangsters is a cute story but nowhere is it based in reality. Make no mistake, when the capitalists say they want to "free" Cuba from the revolutionary government, this is what they have in mind.

In 2014, Ukraine needed a loan. There were two offers:

🔴The World Bank (IMF) offered $15 billion with two conditions:
-Lift the ban on private sector land ownership.
-Cut pensions and fuel subsidies.

🔴Russia also offered $15 billion, but WITHOUT the austerity and privatization requirement.

Ukrainian President Yanukovych decided to chose Russia's offer, so Washington instigated a coup, ousting Yanukovych.

At the G20 Summit, Xi Jinping makes a powerful call for peace, development and sustainability

5️⃣ There must be support for developing countries to integrate digital, smart and green development to bridge the North-South gap.

Towards these goals, China will:

1️⃣ Share its experience in poverty alleviation with the world.

2️⃣ Provide US$20 billion of development funds to support developing countries in poverty reduction and food security.

3️⃣ Help the Global South to gain better access to global advances in science, technology and innovation.

4️⃣ Provide least developed countries with zero-tariff treatment for 100% of their products.

5️⃣ Launch a multidimensional Belt and Road connectivity network, including a Green Silk Road.

The world is at a crossroads: we can pursue the Project for a New American Century, or we can pursue a Global Community of Shared Future. The choice is ours.
