Fantastic conference! Well done to the committee and all involved. Key takeaway: Occupational therapists could provide learning for teacher training programmes to understand the key concepts of handwriting as well as many other things! #CYPF2024

Surely we should be thinking differently? What’s impacting your function, rather than giving a diagnosis.

@ottheorypraxis I find it describes it well for neurotypicals to understand. But in my sessions with the client , I always explain that being over responsive actually means you are better at detecting sensory stimuli, and I always try to include the strengths this can bring have.
Catching up with the SI conference this evening, some thought provoking ideas around strength based approach in Neuro affirmative practice! #sensoryintegration#occupationaltherapy

@MovingOTs@sportforconf#Otalk I’m thinking this means working collaboratively with outside agencies?!
I worked with a local boxing company to provide a session with some of my young People and also a local climbing facility. I had great feedback from the sessions!
@MovingOTs I normally don’t look at Ot specifically but more evidence around physical health and different mental health conditions. There is lots of evidence to support this, even in favour of medication.
@lizdry@FaithSchoolOT@MovingOTs@Lisa_D_OT#OTalk I think education needs to massively change and look at the evidence base. There is so much passive learning involved in the curriculum and students sitting!
