“O SON OF SPIRIT! Know thou of a truth: He that biddeth men be just and himself committeth iniquity is not of Me, even though he bear My name.” — Bahá’u’lláh (The Hidden Words)

Where does your speech outrun your life?
Yesterday's enemies become today's friends. When someone in power tells you to see another group as the enemy, the Baha'i teachings invite you to ask why.

Confiscation of Kayhan Atefi’s Vehicle, Household and Workplace Belongings During Search by Intelligence Agents
On 24 August 2026, Intelligence Ministry agents raided the home of Mr. Kayhan Atefi and his wife, Mrs. Fereshteh Rahmani, a Bahá’í couple in Isfahan, for the second time in less than a year and searched their home and Mr. Atefi’s workplace. The search lasted more than six hours, during which a large quantity of their personal belongings and household and work-related items were confiscated and taken away.
Eight men and one woman were present during the operation and searched various parts of the home, including inside flowerpots and a bag of rice.
Following the search, the agents placed numerous household items, including a television, vacuum cleaner, toolbox, communication equipment, gold, and other valuables, in the family’s suitcases and bags and removed them from the property in a pickup truck. The family’s car was also taken by the agents.
During the search, even some items belonging to a grandchild in the family, including toys, were collected and confiscated. The agents also took household items, including a speaker, as well as tools used at Mr. Atefi’s workplace.
When Mrs. Rahmani objected to the confiscation of the belongings, the agents said: 'These are illicit possessions,' and added, 'You didn’t learn your lesson the first time. You didn’t change your religion!'
The family had previously been subjected to a search by Intelligence agents during the winter of the previous year.
As part of the operation, the agents subsequently went to Mr. Atefi’s workplace and began searching the premises. As of the time of writing, no information has been provided regarding the extent or nature of the property confiscated from the workplace, the judicial grounds for these actions, or any potential charges against the two Bahá’ís.

Austrian MP @paul_stich_ calls for the immediate and unconditional release of Peyvand and Borna Naimi, alongside all unjustly imprisoned prisoners of conscience.
Peyvand and Borna Naimi have been arbitrarily detained since January and March 2026, respectively.
His statement joins a growing chorus of parliamentarians and human rights advocates worldwide calling out the Iranian government’s ongoing persecution and scapegoating of the Bahá’ís in Iran.

A Baha'i prisoner's memoir of survival in Iran's Evin Prison.
BBC News' Julie Etchingham @julie_etch speaks to Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe (who was imprisoned alongside Mahvash Sabet) and translator Bahiyyih Nakhjavani about the harrowing memoir of Mahvash Sabet—an award-winning educator and poet who documented her experience of solitary confinement and psychological torture on smuggled scraps of paper.
The conversation explores the persecution of Iran's Baha'i community, the resilience of prisoners, and the bonds formed in the face of brutality.

A Bahá'í principle, from ‘Abdu’l‑Bahá:
And among the teachings of Bahá’u’lláh is the promotion of education. Every child must be instructed in sciences as much as is necessary. If the parents are able to provide the expenses of this education, it is well, otherwise the community must provide the means for the teaching of that child.
@CNN 's Bianna Golodryga @biannagolodryga speaks with Bahiyyih Nakhjavani about the extraordinary story of Mahvash Sabet, an Iranian poet who documented her harrowing experience of torture and survival at Evin Prison on smuggled scraps of paper.
The conversation also explores the broader persecution of Iran's Baha'i community and the resilience of prisoners who continue to bear witness.

@dailytelegraph publishes a powerful first-hand account by Iranian Bahá’í Mahvash Sabet, describing torture and abuse during her years of imprisonment in Tehran’s Evin Prison.
A former teacher and prominent member of Iran’s Bahá’í community, Sabet recounts being blindfolded, interrogated and violently beaten, and describes how she resolved not to let her interrogators break her.
Sabet has spent more than a decade in prison because of her Bahá’í faith and is currently under house arrest in Tehran following heart surgery.
Her testimony offers a rare insight into the treatment of prisoners of conscience in Iran and the persecution endured by members of the Bahá’í community.
