Speaking of live-streaming executions…
There were white people in America, particularly from the 1880s through the 1930s, who enjoyed watching Black people being lynched.
They brought their families. They cheered, took photographs, and collected pieces of the victims’ clothing or remains as souvenirs.
Bodies were left hanging from trees, with bulging eyes. Some victims were tortured, mutilated, and burned while crowds watched.
This is the horror behind Billie Holiday’s 1939 song Strange Fruit. They were public spectacles of racial terror, and some white Americans treated them as entertainment.

In May, Vice President JD Vance claimed DOJ was investigating Rep. Ilhan Omar, while raising questions about immigration fraud and family finances.
"We're going to investigate it. We're going to take a look at it. If we think that there's a crime, we're going to prosecute that crime. And that's something that the Department of Justice is looking at right now," Vance said during a White House press conference.

We can all feel the economic pain of Trump's war, but the true cost is being hidden. How many service members have we lost? What is the real damage to our bases? Where are our tax dollars going? It is essential that we elect a new Congress that is willing to uncover the full scope of the fallout. It is almost certainly worse than we think.

There are several flaws in this @NYT piece about Jeffrey Epstein's death. The biggest, however, is the reporters ignore the fact that someone else didn't need to get into that unit to kill him. The unit was filled with inmates capable of harming him -- and they were coming and going all day and even into the night. Epstein had a number on his back from the day he got there. The cameras weren't recording. It's simple to just leave a door unlocked and pay someone already on the inside to kill him. It remains frustrating that the Times fails to adequately address (with its enormous resources that I don't have) -- the massive corruption and fabricated reports in that facility that happened that night. The Times would have you believe that it was just accidental that he was left alone in his cell, and that killing him would have required a massive number of people. That simply is not true. https://t.co/9EzgykiLaK via @YouTube
