We're back! This season we join @Aknowmadic and @kerentangyeg on the campaign trail. We get their perspective on mobility, local economy and gain insight into what it's like campaigning as candidates who're of Somali and Chinese decent https://t.co/FdCWphn68o

Not sure where to begin with this. Council has not made any move to cut police funding at this point. Also, this kind of lecture is a bit rich from a government that has tools/responsibility to help #yeg's crisis but has instead chosen the path of abdication and blame.
#SikhHeritageMonth begins today, and this is deeply personal for me. #YEG’s Sikh community has made many contributions to our city since immigrating here in the 19th century and I now serve as Canada’s first Sikh Mayor, a title that I am proud to share with @JyotiGondek.
Day 1 London 🌟New Every One Every Day Kjipuktuk/Halifax team meet Every One Every Day London (#LBBD)! Blown away by residents’ ecosystem of opportunity—learning, making, care, open source hacking, rad inclusivity💜#ParticipatoryCity#ParticipatoryCanada#makerspace#civiccommons
Monica Helms designed the first transgender pride flag in 1999. Helms, a trans activist, donated multiple objects to our @amhistorymuseum, where this flag is part of the collection.

The news of the latest attack on a Black Muslim sister in Edmonton is disturbing & triggering. Reach out to Sisters Dialogue via DM or email [email protected] if you need mental health support. We can provide 5 free sessions with a culturally appropriate therapist.
It is with deep sadness that we share the news today that our colleague Adrienne Pan died Saturday. Adrienne had hosted Radio Active since 2018. Adrienne will be dearly missed by all of us at CBC Edmonton. https://t.co/nBEQhbeDFO
Imagine... "[Politicking/politics] as community building and providing people with an opportunity to thrive." @AKnowmadic
This is the kind of politics that I'm here for. "Let's vote for hope this year." @LisaPrudenPants
"In an era where politics is often reduced to soundbites or tweets, it's nice to have some space for long-form, thoughtful conversations (...) to keep it real, to keep it erudite, to get into the weeds of some of the issues." @somaryaqub

Working with @PharmMorenike on forums about political participation of BIPoC women; building @otherwiseshow podcast together with friends like @ahmedali; and co-creating spaces where communities of colour can openly engage with one another has been a privilege. #community
I've crossed paths with @PharmMorenike often, like when we strategized about how to ensure Black-led organizations like @RibbonRouge have the resources to do important equity work. Through it all, I've learned an incredible amount from her. Thank you, my friend 💜 #yegwomen
#Elxn44 day today! In this special federal election episode, @kerentangyeg & @AKnowmadic talk about voting rights, who gets to have a say, who doesn't, & how might you evaluate your candidate. #yegvote#CanadaElection2021

Very much appreciate this opportunity to share our stories. Thank you to @SKomadinaGlobal and @GlobalEdmonton!
In our latest episode "Can we talk?" @AKnowmadic & @kerentangyeg reflect on their experiences door-to-door, the kindness, frustrations, & what engagement truly means.
Running for council can be a difficult journey, but for people of colour there can be additional challenges. Now, some are sharing their experiences through a podcast. @SKomadinaGlobal has the details.
