@JoyceCarolOates obviously if in a company there is a position that is necessary and the pay is good they're always gonna find a replacement but do you really think if the people in that position kept getting killed that wouldn't change how they would behave? I don't support the assasination btw.
@ogc2025@morallawwithin@bekindtopeople2 I am vegan and I agree that the ideal is eating neither but sometimes you'll face people who aren't willing to go fully vegan and I think it's important to be able to recommend the animal products that cause the least amount of suffering.
@ogc2025@morallawwithin@bekindtopeople2 Ok but when deciding what to consume we should look at how much suffering your consumption would contribute to. And the same applies between chicken meat and beef as one would have to eat around 200 chickens to match a single cow, calorie wise.
@ogc2025@morallawwithin@bekindtopeople2 If we make the comparison based on calories, then a dairy cow provides roughly 350x more calories per day than a hen.
@ogc2025@morallawwithin@bekindtopeople2 Considering average consumption of eggs and dairy in the US and the productivity of dairy cows vs laying hens, in a year the average person cause 33x to 40x more days of hen suffering than dairy cow suffering. It seems absurd to think that dairy cows suffer 33-40x more than hens
