I went on “The Arc,” a new podcast produced by @sciarc to talk about homelessness in LA, how it’s perpetuated by capital and criminalization, and what roles design can and can’t play in halting its alarming acceleration. 1/3
I genuinely feel sick. This is just beyond anything the mind can fathom. And I keep thinking of what Ta-Nehisi Coates said. If you can’t draw the line at the genocide in Gaza, you can’t draw it anywhere else. Moral failure, on a mass and collective scale, brought us here.
US-Israel have hit 20 schools and 10 hospitals and killed 400 children in less than a week, but US media continues to take for granted they only bomb civilians in “error.” As with Gaza, how many civilians do they have to snuff out before we can entertain the idea this is policy?
Maybe we need livable wage. Compassion. Affordable housing. Compassion. More funding for programs and shelters, mental health support for the homeless. Compassion.
oh yeah careful guys, this might actually be a bad thing, they might use this as a pretense to do everything that they have been doing continuously since the literal founding of this country
nyc swung right in the presidential election but just nominated a Muslim socialist for mayor. this country isn't getting more rightwing, people are just fed up with cowards who don't stand for anything or care about making anyone's life better
