We have made significant progress in redesigning the Igbo Apprenticeship System.

We have now signed an agreement with a German Ausbildung programme, one of the world’s most respected vocational training systems in the world.

We will be selecting 20 young people between the ages of 16 and 25 from across the five South-Eastern states for specialised training in various trades, including carpentry, plumbing, welding, masonry, and other technical skills.

The selected participants will first undergo nine months of intensive German language training in Enugu before securing Ausbildung placements and relocating to Germany for specialised vocational training.

Upon completing their training, they will return to Nigeria to train others, transferring their knowledge and expertise to local communities as we progressively expand the programme.

Our core focus is precision, technical excellence, and world-class craftsmanship.

We want to develop a generation of highly skilled professionals who can build infrastructure, transform industries, create jobs, and contribute meaningfully to the development of our society.

These are the people who will build the future of our region.

We are deliberately building the human capital required to transform the South East.

I therefore demand transparency regarding Rilwan Olawale’s arrest, his release, respect for his rights, and an end to politically motivated harassment. No government or political party has the right to deny Nigerians the freedom to support a candidate of their choice.
We will remain peaceful but resolute. We will not resort to violence, but we will stand firmly and lawfully against every attempt to undermine our democratic rights.

OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION FROM THE LEGAL TEAM — 18 OCTOBER 2026

Following a 20-minute discussion among the legal team, in conjunction with lead counsel, we wish to communicate the following factual and legal points for the attention of Biafrans worldwide.

1. EXPECTED RELEASE DATE

Simon Ekpa is expected to be released before, or on or around, 17 NOVEMBER 2026.

2. UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE

The legal team’s position is that his release will be unconditional, with no conditions attached to his release.

3. HIS DESTINATION AFTER RELEASE

Simon Ekpa is a Finnish national and has a home in Finland. Following his release, he will return to his home in Finland. Nothing has changed .

4. SIXTY (60) DAYS TO CHALLENGE THE CONVICTION

Following his Appeal court release, we have a period of sixty (60) days to pursue the appropriate legal process seeking to have the conviction quashed, in accordance with the applicable procedure under Finnish law.

5. APPEAL TO THE SUPREME COURT OF FINLAND

When SIMON EKPA is out and FREE,
the legal team intends to pursue the appropriate application before the Supreme Court of Finland to challenge the conviction and seek its quashing.

6. SPECIAL GROUNDS FOR QUASHING THE CONVICTION

We have identified special grounds upon which we intend to base our application to have the conviction quashed.

7. CONFIDENTIALITY OF OUR LEGAL STRATEGY

As a legal team, we have resolved to keep these special grounds confidential until the day the application is formally filed. This is a matter of legal strategy, and we shall not disclose the details prematurely.

8. READINESS FOR FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS

The legal team is fully prepared to address any legal or procedural matters that may arise in connection with Simon Ekpa’s release and the subsequent proceedings.

On the day I left office, I left more than US$150 million as the dollar component of my investment in Anambra State as governor. I hereby provide documents that can be verified with the various banks. Had it remained untouched, this investment was expected to provide Anambra State with approximately US$10 million in annual income.

Even if their assertion were accurate—which it is not—that Anambra owed US$123 million, the government could have used the US$10 million generated annually from my savings to reduce the debt. It has now been 13 years since I left office, which would amount to US$130 million. The debt should have been fully settled by now.

Had they retained the funds I left in the bank, including the compound interest on the principal and the additional income, the total would be approximately US$335 million today. If they had chosen to repay the US$92.35 million funding, the entire amount would have been covered, leaving approximately US$242 million to be reinvested. That sum would have generated about US$20 million annually for Anambra State.

Let me reiterate that, when I left office, I left Anambra State in a strong financial position—the strongest of any state in Nigeria—and I stand by that position.

Through this clarification, I wish to state categorically that I will neither engage nor trade words with anyone regarding my tenure in Anambra State. My focus will now be on issues affecting the suffering Nigerian masses, which is the reason for my presidential ambition.
