They have massive issues around human rights and freedoms. But what they have done well is to look out for the very best in their society to run public institutions and set out clear goals for them. Any failure or transgression is punished severely, regardless of who it is.

In Uganda, Kaboyo, a confessed thief of public resources, is a minister today, and the president presides over her children’s wedding. A prime minister who can not be accused of intellectual predisposition is in charge of government business in parliament. A minister of education whose own academic credentials have been challenged presides over the education sector simply because she shares a marital bed with the president.

How then can you expect such a society to make such leaps? What is Anifa Kawoya’s intellectual claim? What is her expertise?

Can someone please explain to me in a way I can understand how my brother dies and I need to go fight his wife or girlfriend over his property? Why do I need his things? Where is my share in his things? When he was alive why did I not see the need to fight him if I had a share in his wealth? Does my share in his wealth only come when he is dead? I am not even sure I can engage in a fight for my father's wealth. The man made it why can't I also make my own?
