Road, Perambur, emerged as the top scorer with 495 out of 500 marks. “During the holidays, I am planning to take online courses to learn new technologies. I want to learn software such as Premiere Pro and also Artificial Intelligence technologies,” she told @the_hindu.
Anandhi M., who scored 494 marks, said she was preparing for the UPSC examinations on her own, as her single mother, a housemaid, could not afford private coaching.
Both are raised by single mothers, who said education is crucial for all, especially girls.

A serene stone sculpture, long standing quietly in the Pidari Amman temple complex at Umbalacheri village near Vedaranyam, has finally been identified as an ancient Buddha idol.
Carved from wheat-brown stone, the Buddha sits in ardhapadmasana — elongated ears, radiant halo, meditative calm intact. Torso: 46cm x 34cm. Head: 11.5cm x 9cm.
Hidden in plain sight for centuries, now revealed.
