Karnataka Police in coordination with the Labour Inspectors, carried out a statewide special drive against child labour, conducting surprise inspections across 16,951 premises and rescuing 800 children. In Bengaluru City alone, 5,897 locations were inspected and 503 children rescued.

Further investigation is underway under the relevant provisions of the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act and the Juvenile Justice Act.

Child labour has no place in our society. Such violations will be dealt with firmly and establishments found breaking the law will be held accountable. We will continue coordinated enforcement with the Labour Department to identify violations, rescue children and ensure their safety and rehabilitation.

#Important: Just two days ago, an entire PR blitz was organised at a DU college for the Prime Minister. Today, DU students are dead, severely injured, and trapped under the rubble of Satya Niketan horror. And not a SINGLE WORD from the Prime Minister.
He had words to once again call questioning youngsters “dimagi Naxals”. Words to demonise a generation that protests, questions and demands accountability. But not one word for young lives buried under rubble. Students are again back on the roads to protest because those in power, like you, force them to resort to this. And then you call them Naxals!
Guys, these people in power simply don’t give a DAMN about youngsters forced to live like cockroaches. Hindu-Muslim. Mandir-Masjid. “My Gen Z vs Your Gen Z”. This is their politics and it never stops, no matter how many young Indians keep paying with their lives.

One day has passed. Why no word for the students who died? A prayer for their families? An assurance that every trapped student will be rescued and every survivor cared for? An assurance that every official and political person responsible for this tragedy will be held accountable? When a tragic school or college shooting takes place in Canada or America, India’s Prime Minister is one of the first ones to issue a statement. Then why this distance from your own students sir?

This is the LEAST any citizen should expect from their Prime Minister. Apparently, even that is too much to ask. What a disgusting state of affairs.

Look at this hand gestures at 00:13 when he's talking about 'dimagi naxals'. He is gesturally indicating to the audience that these people who he terms as 'dimagi naxals' are akin to the insects coming out of the wood work. He also suggests in his speech that they're like a disease. All of this is an attempt to dehumanise dissenters in India, and if he's able to do that successfully, then using state violence becomes easy, because you're only stamping out 'insects'. The minorities in India have already gone through that process of dehumanisation over the past decade and a half through industrialised disinformation and hate speech.

However, it is starting to feel that this strategy may not be working anymore. He thinks that he's saying something very profound, but I feel that at least a part of the younger generation sees through his machinations. Time will tell, whether this country will close their eyes to more state violence or will resist it. With the levels of anger and dissatisfaction with this Government increasing every day, the only way to maintain power is to curb dissent.
