YOU'RE WEEKLY REMINDER OF WHERE YOUR MONEY WENT UNDER THE LAST GOV. ( a few of thousands of examples)
1. Wallaby eradication โ $2.7 million to kill 18 wallabies. $153,000 per wallaby and 26,000 labour hours. Cheaper to fly them home business class.
2. Virtual job expos โ $835,000. 126 people attended. $6,626 per Zoom attendee.
3. Global health recruitment campaign โ $514,000. Result: 3 interviews. $171,000 per interview.
4. Let's Get Wellington Moving โ $35m on consultants. Just $250k on actual construction. You read that right.
5. Auckland Light Rail โ $229 million. Six years. Not one metre of track. Burning $1.2m/week on consultants at peak.
6. Three Waters โ ~$1.2 billion torched on a policy nobody wanted, scrapped before delivering a single pipe. Included $14,500 to write a job description for a CEO who never existed.
7. iReX ferries โ $500m+ sunk. Ballooned from $551m to a projected $3 billion+ before cancellation. (NZ First also had fingerprints on the original deal โ worth being upfront about.)

17. Abandoned China immigration office โ ~$3 million in rent on an office closed for over a year.

โฆand we could keep going.
We should never FORGET Labour. Just a small fraction of their wasteful ways.
@NZNationalParty@actparty
@ZooNealand@theinfinitepooh Part of the reason is that our minimum wage is high and it kicks in at 16. If you have to pay someone in an entry level job a decent wage then you may as well get someone older and more experienced. The supermarkets pay permanent staff quite well these days too.
@DanielgDan@boydparatene No - itโs my daughter. I have nothing to gain from telling people this info, Iโm simply sharing a racist example of what is happening in a NZ tertiary institution.
@lochiegc@boydparatene Did she have the same old white lady with glasses running her English course? Ask her. My daughter has nothing to gain from telling me this info.
@f_krissie @JOSH______NZ It did happen and I donโt have proof. My daughter doesnโt want to rock the boat about it for fear of not getting into her course. Believe what you want. I donโt care about likes or attention- I care about fairness and my Country
@HS_NZL I canโt offer proof. She told me and isnโt a liar. She knows me and knows that by telling me Iโll do something about it. Iโll try to get proof before I go further with it, otherwise itโs the class against the tutor.
@LordRapihana@paddlesup24@NixonPunished@RealGangz They were invited to trade and live in NZ. Once Maori were familiar with the customs and advances that the British had, they wanted it, and the protection from their neighbouring tribes that land ownership could offer.
@4evaTrump2028@BellaForte6@IrnBoru Theyโd probably expect her to do karakia every day if she told them that ๐. Sheโs the only kiwi in the course too
