Radia Tapes severely damaged the credibility of senior journalists like Barkha Dutt & Vir Sanghvi. But Navika Kumar too was allegedly linked to this lobbying scam, yet escaped scrutiny. This despite she wasn’t a major face then.
Who shielded her? Any idea? 🙂

Another Master Bulldozer Strike by Yogi govt!
Bighas of prime forest land in Etawah, long encroached and turned into a mazar where Urs was held every year, has been cleared overnight.
Evening tall standing, Next morning — gone. Bulldozed, spotless, and fresh trees planted.
A different kind of political game is unfolding in Tamil Nadu!
The BJP has sent Annamalai off much like a father sends his son away for a job.
Now, Superstar Rajinikanth and Annamalai have joined forces; both are deeply imbued with the spirit of Hindutva.
For the past 60 years, Tamil Nadu politics has been dominated by the DMK and AIADMK, leaving no room for a third party.
This time, Vijay Joseph has formed a government for the first time.
The politics of both the DMK and AIADMK have consistently been anti-Hindi and anti-national.
It would be ideal if Rajinikanth and Annamalai came together to form a party that could permanently eradicate the politics of the DMK and AIADMK from Tamil Nadu.
It is not essential for the BJP to win in every state, but it is crucial that a nationalist party remains in power; that is why Naveen Patnaik was acceptable in Odisha, and Chandrababu is acceptable in Andhra today!

JRD Tata loses a pen!
JRD Tata, then Chairman of the Tata group, and senior Tata Directors used to meet for lunch at Bombay House (the Tata Group's headquarters) every day. One day, JRD came to lunch, sad that he had lost his favourite pen. He used to always carry a Parker pen set - a fountain pen and a ball pen.
"Look", he said sadly, "I have lost the ball pen. I don't know where it has gone. I have looked all over...but it's gone."
One of the Directors in the lunch room that day was Dr. Jamshed (JJ) Irani of Tata Steel. He made note of JRD Tata's loss. A few weeks later, when he was visiting London, he went to a small shop near Selfridges specialising in pens, and found a ball pen identical to the one JRD had lost. He bought it immediately. The next time he met JRD Tata, he presented that pen to him.
JRD was delighted. "Yes, Jamshed, it is exactly like the one I lost." For the first one or two minutes, he used it and tried it out. Then, Dr. Irani saw JRD's expression change slowly.
After a couple of minutes, he gave the ball pen back to Dr. Irani, and said - "Thank you for the thought. This is exactly what I wanted, but I cannot accept it."
"Why?" asked Dr. Irani, "I thought you were looking for this."
JRD answered - "Yes, Jamshed. But it is a principle of mine not to accept any gifts from any of my colleagues at work. If I did, then I know my colleagues would try to outdo each other and give me exorbitant gifts."
Dr. Irani tried to persuade him. "But Sir, nobody would know that I have given you this pen. You can say that you found it in your room. I am not going to go around saying that I have given JRD an identical pen."
JRD responded - "Jamshed, I know you will not do any such thing. But I would know. I would know that I accepted this gift against my principles. I am sorry, but I cannot accept it."
Each of us decides the principles by which we lead our lives. The principles that we will stand by, even if no one is looking or speaking about them. The principles that define who we really are. This story of JRD Tata's lost ball pen can help us reflect on what our own life's principles are. #Tata #ethics

🚨 India Unlocks ₹90,000 Crore Oil & Gas Treasure on Assam-Nagaland Border After 30 Long Years
In a landmark breakthrough for India's energy security, Assam and Nagaland have set aside a decades-old territorial dispute to unlock massive oil and gas reserves worth an estimated ₹90,000 crore.
The historic tripartite agreement, signed by the governments of Assam, Nagaland, and the Centre, ends nearly three decades of stagnation that kept some of Northeast India's most promising hydrocarbon reserves buried beneath disputed territory.
For years, the resources were known to exist. But no company was willing to invest in exploration because of the unresolved border conflict between the two states. Legal disputes, administrative hurdles, and security concerns turned a resource-rich region into a no-go zone for energy development.
That has now changed.
Under the new arrangement, more than 1,000 square kilometres of disputed territory along the Assam-Nagaland border will be opened for oil and gas exploration. Six major hydrocarbon fields are expected to become operational, with officials estimating production potential far beyond current levels.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah described the agreement as an example of putting national interest above regional disagreements. Instead of waiting indefinitely for a final boundary settlement, both states have agreed to jointly benefit from the resources while legal processes continue separately.
The formula is simple but powerful: extract the resources now, share the revenue equally, and allow the border dispute to be resolved through existing mechanisms.
The agreement is expected to generate substantial royalty income, create jobs, attract infrastructure investment, and strengthen economic activity across both states. Roads, pipelines, processing facilities, and associated industries are likely to follow.
More importantly, the deal arrives at a time when energy security has become a strategic priority for India.
Every barrel of oil and every unit of gas produced domestically reduces dependence on imports and strengthens India's ability to withstand global energy shocks. With geopolitical tensions affecting energy markets worldwide, unlocking domestic reserves has become both an economic and national security objective.
The significance of the agreement goes beyond oil and gas.
It demonstrates a new model for resolving resource-based disputes in India. Rather than allowing territorial disagreements to indefinitely block development, states can cooperate, share benefits, and pursue legal settlements in parallel.
For decades, these reserves remained trapped beneath a political deadlock.
Today, that deadlock has been broken.
And with it, India has gained access to one of the Northeast's most valuable untapped energy frontiers.
A year ago, a Hindu woman studying at a college in Bhopal filed a police case against a college senior named Farhan that he befriended her under a false identity, and then drugged, raped, blackmailed and forcibly tried to convert her to Islam
Soon after, several women from the same college came forward with similar complaints against different men
Police found that the accused were part of the same gang and had the backing of a criminal named Shariq who is notorious in Bhopal by nickname ‘Machli’
Police found that the accused targeted Hindu girls in a coordinated manner - trapping one girl, then introducing her friend to another gang member, and so on
They also facilitated opportunities for intimacy and then secretly recorded videos
Two of the victims were sisters who had lost their parents long ago and were being raised in poverty by relatives. The scandal left them so shattered that one of them tried to kill herself and still bears a deep scar on her wrist
The revelations were reported as ‘Bhopal sex scandal’
Such was the outrage over the shocking revelations that MP govt got Shariq’s house bulldozed, top police chief of MP got involved, women’s commission got involved, and several accused were arrested. They continue to be in jail
The most important intervention came from NHRC member @KanoongoPriyank
He closely monitored progress of the case, ensuring it was not diluted. Such was his impact that a close aide of Shariq once reached his office in Delhi and asked him to withdraw from the matter. Priyank Ji threw him out of his office. The incident was widely covered by the media
Now comes his most significant intervention
He conceptualised a program to educate college girls across Bhopal about this racket as well as legal and social support available to any girl who is trapped but either is not recognising it yet or is too scared to break free
This program, named Sankalp, was taken up by @sewanyaya, run by @SanjeevSanskrit and me, and implemented through our partner @NetworkforJus
We selected a group of women college students from Bhopal, trained them and deployed them to conduct large-scale awareness sessions across campuses
In the past eight months, this group has educated over 8,000 girls across 100 colleges in Bhopal
During the program, several who attended these sessions later reached out to the team privately and managed to get out of such situations, while three went on to file actual police cases.
Yesterday, Priyank Ji and I were in Bhopal to mark the highly successful completion of the first year of this programme, along with MP Child Commission Chairperson Nivedita Sharma and the senior leadership of the LNCT Group of Colleges
I also met the remarkable trainers, mentored by the superb @nidhikartikey and @SalujaSanat
And I also met three victims of the scandal
Their stories are disturbing and I will share them another time
But I saw they have found their strongest support system and closest friends in the Sankalp team
