Received a message that my recent cartoon about the Henry Nowak case has been banned on X for EU nations for “hate speech.”
@elonmusk How do I appeal this? This appears to be a clear abuse of the policy by the European left.
reminder that the united states of america is trying to jail a guy that wrote non-custodial code to help people keep their onchain activity free from surveillance
he did not launder money, did not have central control, his code was immutable. he did not commit any known crime. in fact, he did everything that fincen says and hired lawyers ahead of time just to make sure. didn't matter
he wrote code that individuals can keep their privacy. and they are trying to put him behind bars for this
the dutch have already convicted his cofounder
you can rug an entire country by releasing countless shitcoins, bomb whoever you want, but god forbid you write immutable code that keeps your finances private
Dark Bio whitepaper is out!
We're building a system in which a person's health data, their genome most of all, no longer has to live with a custodian to be useful. A system, where data does not move, rather stays on a small device the owner holds.
This is why @nihiliumio, a protocol for key/secret recovery is using 'combinatorial threshold' trading complexity and orchestration overhead for ciphertext size and local compute, with the added benefit of picking your own group. Which allows for geographic arbitrage. It only uses standard cryptography making it very easy to reason about.
Nihilium is probably one of the few protocols that treats MPC setups as adversaries for collusion.
You have every right to know what your government is doing, and they have no right to know what you are doing.
That is why they are called public servants and we are called private citizens.
Instead, the relationship has been inverted. The state hides behind secrecy, classified files, and redactions while demanding total visibility into your finances, communications, movement, and behavior.
A society where the rulers live in privacy while the population lives under surveillance is the very definition of tyranny.
Web3 needs recovery that does not compromise self-custody.
@nihiliumio is building self-sovereign key recovery for Web3, using ZK proofs and slashable conditions so users can recover access without handing control to a custodian.

@EliBenSasson@ameensol There is only one system that can secure viewing keys and verify that it has not been used and its use can be limited (say valid for a year), and that system is @nihiliumio
Friendly reminder that absolutely nobody voted for this, that it's all about surveiling adults rather than protecting kids, and that it will lead to government-approved speech sold as child-appropriate content.
Pleased to announce Olaf van Wijk [@ovanwijk] of @nihiliumio as speaker at the @web3privacy meetup of @ETHCluj , May 12.
Olaf has been a contributor to the #privacy space at several projects including @0xprivacypools and now Nihilium. At the event, he will dive into the difference between privacy and secrecy, with examples how to include #web3 in broader human adoption while focusing on #data #sovereignty

@GwartyGwart And this is exactly why I have been building @nihiliumio , a recovery protocol that works on the keys themselves so we can go back to cryptographic access instead of authorized access. And then enable it for the masses.
Better security starts with strong recovery, if that is taken care off, operational security can be the focus.
