@MiLBEjections@RiverCats I think this is the right call, was it a bad throw? Yes, But could 1B still make an attempt but leaping off the bag? Also yes. It looks to me like htere is hindernce, and it did seem like the runner's foot was outside the 3 ft lane in fair territory at the very end.
@JomboyMedia the balk was called after convening, so I imagine thats how they did not realize to update the count, or maybe they did, just the scoreboard didn't catch it. And yes, the strike can absolutely be nullified.
@JomboyMedia The balk happened before this and is an obsure rule in the MLB. If you pitch from a hybrid positon, you have to decalre going into the wind up position. So a balk was called and a run scored, however, it also nullified the stroke thrown. (read reply for more)
