Heroes are not born they are shaped by courage, resilience, and the choice to be better every single day.
Here is to mending bridges, extending grace, and moving forward.
My hero today.
Happy Heroes Day!
One of the most fulfilling things I did this holiday was beginning to introduce my boys — Nikita Yannick Kyamutetera and Tshaka Reagan Kyamutetera, 16 and 18 respectively — to the media business.
For years, they have seen me work. They knew, in a general sense, what I do. But like many children watching their parent from a distance, they always wondered what exactly happens behind the scenes — and perhaps more importantly, how does one actually make money from this thing called media?
So, this holiday, as part of what I believe will be a long-term succession planning journey, I made a deliberate decision to bring them closer to the business.
I acquired some equipment for them and got them practicing. I also dragged them along to some of the key interviews I did during the year — not just to watch, but to observe, listen, understand the discipline, the preparation, the relationships, the storytelling, and the business behind the camera.
And I am so grateful I did.
I can already feel the energy changing. I can see the understanding growing. I can sense the appreciation deepening. More importantly, I can see in them a desire to get involved, to learn, and to build.
As a parent, few things are more fulfilling than watching your children begin to understand not just what you do, but why you do it — and then seeing them take their own first steps.
I would especially like to thank @BoMuliisa and @DavidAWandera for allowing this to happen and for giving the boys room to observe and learn. They will forever be grateful. As a family, we are very grateful.
Out of that inspiration, the boys have even started their own vlog/podcast: The Tshaka & Nikkie Kyamutetera Show
Please check it out here: https://t.co/rUhccltVg6
Watch, subscribe, share — and most importantly, let us know how they can improve. They are young, curious, learning, and open to feedback.
We would also be happy to host your teenage children as guests on the show — especially those with interesting stories, talents, ideas, questions, ambitions, or dreams they would like to share with the world.
As parents, sometimes the greatest gift we can give our children is not just inheritance, but exposure. Not just advice, but opportunity. Not just protection, but a platform.
This holiday reminded me that succession does not start in boardrooms. Sometimes, it starts quietly — with a camera, a microphone, a curious child, and a parent willing to open the door and their networks.
There is a group claiming that the @DailyMonitor Newspaper went overboard with this headline. Let me ask a few questions;
1. Besides being First Lady, is Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni a public officer? YES, she is the outgoing and incoming Minister for Education.
2. Do the citizens have a right to know whether their public officers such as cabinet Ministers are no shows at work and the reason thereof? YES.
3. Is there any record or communication from the Government about the Hon. Minister for Education going on sick leave? NO.
4. Has the Government failed on PR in this issue? I think so.
Instead of putting the blame where it lies - with those that are not communicating clearly to the citizens the status of the Hon. Minister for Education - to allow the religious to pray for her (if need be), they are blaming the newspaper that is asking the right question.
The day President Museveni started appointing his family members into public offices, he stripped them of a certain level of privacy that would be accorded to them. Let us be very clear.
So, President Yoweri Museveni recently mocked Ugandans (and by extension other Africans) who go to Dubai to work. He called it a desert, insufferably hot, and declared Ugandans who went there to work had an “inferiority complex”. There are grand political arguments one can make, but someone wisely suspected it had more to do with the pay, so we went looking for the dry differences in the salaries of some of the “lower jobs” Ugandans go to Dubai to work, and what they would have earned at home. Here's what we found in this table:
A skit by Fun Factory, yes, but it captures the true State of the Nation today so well.
Everything has been reduced to the lowest common denominator in decorum, and institutions have been replaced by phone calls to whichever feudal overlord appointed you.
After watching this @ntvuganda video,I can say that @ReachDrMuganga is the new Minister for Internal Affairs. This guy has hustled his way to the top,Dr Muganga we got your back @Parliament_Ug & Tayebwa should revisit their decision of saying that u a Rwanda #PayAllMedicalInterns
In case you missed it —Here’s #SONA2026 summarized:
Pres Museveni delivered a tough, no-nonsense address, re-echoing his “Kisanja of No More Sleep.” He slammed corruption, laziness & underperformance, warning of possible purges for underperforming leaders. Pushed for intensified oversight, results-driven governance, and an economic takeoff targeting 10% growth.
No word on AAA (who missed attending Parliament again), or the dual citizenship debate.
Thoughts?
Then What is role of the government
Do you think everyone understands the you understand?
You said one day in Uganda 🇺🇬 even the most stupid person can survive

Thank you @RKirunda

Newly appointed Minister of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, Sanjay Tanna, has cleared the air regarding public scrutiny over recent cabinet appointments, confirming he holds only one passport and is exclusively Ugandan.
Tanna’s clarification follows a petition to Parliament’s Appointments Committee seeking to block nominees accused of holding hidden foreign nationalities. Under Ugandan law, dual citizens are strictly barred from serving as Cabinet Ministers.
The two-time former Tororo Municipality MP emphasized that his extensive public service career required thoroughly verified Ugandan citizenship.
