Owner

Making online success easy for restaurants, using AI. Powering sites, online ordering, communications, CRM, and more. Arming owners to take on their goliaths.

Job's not finished! 🚀

[Adam Guild @adamguild]

Owner has raised $240M, reached a $2.3B valuation, and crossed $100M ARR.

Goldman Sachs Alternatives led the round, joined by Meritech, Redpoint, Headline, & Jack Altman.

The world is racing to build AI to replace people’s jobs. Owner is building AI to do the opposite:

Max’s writeup on how tsrs came together: https://t.co/8B4BQhvALW

[Owner @owner]

Owner’s Head of AI Developer Experience, Max Schwenk, writes about tsrs: a Rust port of TypeScript’s typechecker that cut our monorepo’s typecheck from 80 seconds to 7.

Cloudflare and VoidZero are taking over tsrs as part of Oxc, in close collaboration with the TypeScript team.

[Owner @owner]

tsrs allows more us to run more agents working in parallel on our laptops and in our cloud sandboxes.

For Owner, these typecheck and lint changes are projected to save hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.

Across large TypeScript codebases, that could add up to hundreds of millions over time.

Load the menu slower and people buy less food. Faster page = more revenue, and now there's real data on it. Owner is a 776 co and this is the kind of unglamorous infra work that actually moves the needle for these small businesses.

How we rebuilt our website infrastructure with @astrodotbuild and @Cloudflare, reduced menu-page loading time by 83%, and raised per-restaurant revenue by more than 4%.

So exciting to see such a great company and industry partner achieve such success. Their product is key to the future of restaurants. Congratulations Adam!

[Jack Altman @jaltma]

Owner is the first board I ever joined after leading their A, and Adam is the founder who made me realize I wanted to be a full time investor.

Incredible execution fueled by genuinely loving their customers. So proud of these guys and they are just at the beginning.

[Jonathan Neman @JonnyNemo]

I knew when I first met @adamguild that he and @deanbloembergen and the Owner team were building something special

Huge day, and so proud of the team hitting this milestone. More energized than ever by all the work we still have to do for our customers.

Local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities and it's an honor to serve them... back to it!

[Charlie Curnin @charliecurnin]

Is there a time when Adam is *not* thinking about small businesses?

Couldn't tell you

This is our apartment where we are surrounded by framed photographs of customers

Congrats to the Owner team.

Amazing progress and love the focus on SMBs.

Honored to be an indie investor in the company.

[Christina Farr @chrissyfarr]

This fundraising announcement is an absolute masterclass. It actually makes me want to root for an AI company. So clever to align the AI with the interests of local businesses versus big corporations.

Everyone founder should watch it.

Owner is using AI to give the local restaurant the marketing and tech firepower the big chains have always had. That's the tech I want to back, the kind that helps Main Street. Congrats @adamguild and team!! (Owner is a 776 co)

stoked to share that after 15+ years away from the industry, i’m returning to work with restaurants… i joined @owner last week!

i worked in restaurants from 14 to 22, so this one feels super personal. i saw firsthand how locally-owned restaurants become pillars of their communities AND how insanely hard they are to run as businesses.

between big chains with massive marketing budgets and delivery apps taking a cut of every online order, owners today have even more to contend with.

that’s where we come in.

we help independent restaurants build stronger relationships with their customers, so they can compete with the big chains and keep more of what they earn.

very excited to work alongside @darrinhenein @AdamWhitcroft @AnthonyMenecola @jonminori and everyone else on this stacked team of 10.

we're hiring for both product and brand, so please reach out.

A few weeks ago we launched a new brand for @owner — an evolution that much better represents the incredible mission and technology that we're building. This was one of the first initiatives I lead as CDO here and was an amazing process in collaboration with @thenickpattison and his talented team at Primary. We couldn't be more proud of how we now show up in the world.

Owner has now driven over $1,000,000,000 in sales for local restaurants, and that growth is compounding every week. We've been on a hiring streak and have welcomed some insane talent to the design team in the last few months, and we're looking to bring on a few more builders — designers who sweat the details and can bring their ideas to life.
