@FaithfulBeacon@NiallHarbison Hey, you know what? Street dogs survive on the streets eating all kinds of junk they should never eat. Please save the preaching - no one here wants to hear it.
@macmillan_andy @MorganBroadcast Did you know that the vet profession has huge levels of depression and many leave early? Try blaming the system and the corporate practices not the vets please.
@MorganBroadcast @DarbyshireAdele@DanielgDan I think you said ยฃ350 does secure you an appointment? To be fair it does seem a lot. An out of hours appointment for our vets is about ยฃ165 from memory. Try some others, but you'll have to be prepared to travel. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@NiallHarbison As a massive supporter, I'm nonetheless concerned about the ongoing narrative almost intimating the original owner just wanted Stormzy put down because he couldn't be bothered to try. From memory he was desperately concerned the dog was suffering. An important difference.
@countrymousie That's so open to whataboutery. It's very simple. Dogs off leads trash bluebells. Bluebells woods are a unique and valuable British environment. Don't let your dogs off leads - it trashes the bluebells and it trashes everyone else's enjoyment of them. It's simple courtesy.
@theAliceRoberts@BrianEmbleton And this is why it was worth it. If you'd spoken to farmers in Scotland who would normally be sowing malting barley this spring but haven't been able to get contracts, you'd know this could be hugely significant.

@theAliceRoberts You can get tied up in knots about the fairness. Or you can look at the outcome, which is pretty much that the monarchy is stable, values dignity, and is currently talking sense to the orange man when few others can. If that saves a few livelihoods in the UK, then it's worth it
@rebeccarleton@Frances_Coppola They do because male puberty likely leaves durable structural advantages that hormones do not fully reverse, especially size, skeletal geometry and some muscle-related traits. Hormone therapy reduces that advantage, but does not remove it - especially where muscle memory exists.
@FScully72@ChrisNeeeiigghh If it's non competitive, why time it and have competitive categories? As soon as you do that, it's competitive. So the solution is either cut the timing and categories, or maintain them but make sure the advantage of male puberty is not permitted in a female category
@ChrisNeeeiigghh Not just elite athletes chris. I rowed at a good amateur level for years at huge commitment. To lose my seat to someone with the strength advantage of male puberty would've been heartbreaking. For some, the town regatta, local swimming gala or parkrun *is* their Olympics.
@K_Niemietz Not half of voters. Half of the people who took part in the survey. But what was their demographic breakdown, how were they sampled, and what was the sample size?
@Decline_Observe@K_Niemietz@DavidGHFrost Cost bases are different in the US compared with UK. For a start, food is much more expensive & Americans spend more (albeit only a little more) of disposable income on food. Without an NHS they also have to factor in medical costs. So you're not comparing like with like.
