Lord, I am especially grateful for the life of this brother. Thank You for keeping him, for the strength and brightness he has always carried. Thank You for the gift of life, for every breath, for hope, for purpose. We thank You because his life is a testimony of Your grace, and his future is held securely in Your hands (Jeremiah 29:11).

Today, I come before You in faith, believing that You are the Lord who heals (Exodus 15:26). You know every pain, every disease, and every emotional or spiritual burden. Father, let Your healing power flow through his body, mind, and spirit. Let every cell, organ, bone, and system in his body respond to Your Word, for You sent Your word and healed them (Psalm 107:20).

Just as You healed the woman with the issue of blood, the ten lepers, Blind Bartimaeus, the man at the pool of Bethesda, healed me again and again and healed my friend’s mom, heal him also. Show Yourself mighty in his life. Let the testimony of Your power be loud and undeniable.

Father, remove every sickness that medical knowledge cannot explain. Restore everything that has been damaged, revive what has weakened, and renew strength like the eagle.

With You, nothing is impossible.

Today, we declare that by the stripes of Jesus he is healed.
Let Your peace that passes all understanding surround him.
Let Your presence fill his room, his heart, and his thoughts. Let Your joy be his strength.

Lord, do what only You can do. Step into where human ability ends. For with You nothing shall be impossible.

A mentor of mine got divorced
The court gave him and his wife joint custody of the children
His wife flouted the court order and whisked the children to the USA
This man did not fight
He prayed and prayed until he got tired
This happened in 2008
Everybody told him to move on
He was forty-five years old when this happened
The divorce and subsequent loss of his children took a heavy toll on his psychologically
He couldn't concentrate at work and had to resign
I went to his house with another classmate to visit him at the time
He had moved from his church (A baptist church in Lagos to a Pentecostal church.)
I asked him why
He said he met his ex-wife there, and her parents were still attending the church
He felt the church should intervene in the issue so that the ex-wife's parents could compel their daughter to grant him access to his children
The church did not do anything because his in-laws were very influential
So he felt there was no point seeing them every Sunday and torturing himself with pain and tears
He changed churches
He struggled financially for about two years
Eventually, he travelled to Europe
I saw him earlier this year
We got talking
He said he is trusting God for children at the age of sixty-three
I asked him why
He said his children in the USA had grown up and gotten married without knowing him
His ex-wife remarried in the USA, and the new husband became the daddy his children knew
He said even when he tried to call them on the phone to say hello
There was very little to say
He conceded that those children were lost
The new wife he remarried has yet to have a child

For some of us, what is the big deal there?
He had children, and they are still alive and well
He should just live his life and enjoy himself

For some, his fate was worse than death
To die without knowing your children and to die without your children knowing you

We all should be fair to one another when it comes to marriage and the weaponization of children to punish our spouses.

Some men are lucky; their children end up looking for them later in life, but this is not always the case.

Politics sweet pass Nollywood sometimes.

Lagos State House Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, first nominated his son as APC Chairmanship candidate for Agege LGA. People cried, shouted, and even threatened.

So the man listened to their cries, or so we thought, and nominated someone else. That someone else turned around and nominated Obasa’s son as Vice Chairman. They both won the election in July.

Three months later, the Chairman peacefully resigned to make way for Obasa’s son to take the main seat as the new Chairman of Agege LGA.

Politicians no dey ever disappoint. I just wish the people of Lagos the best in life.
