It has now been around 1,100 days since my father, Imran Khan, was imprisoned, and my brother and I haven’t heard his voice since March. For months, we’ve been denied contact with him. We remain in the dark about his access to healthcare as his eyesight continues to deteriorate. He urgently needs medical attention, and with no family or legal access, we don’t even get any second hand information or reassurance.
I’ve found myself especially missing him recently. I want to speak to him about mundane things like my cricket, books I’ve been reading and what new movies are good. I understand the people of Pakistan want their chosen leader free, but I miss my father more than ever.
But this is not just about a father. It is about Pakistan, and its future. A rigged, authoritarian regime continues to crush political opposition, undermine democratic institutions, and deny millions of Pakistanis their right to freely choose their leaders, whilst terrorising those who speak their beliefs.
I once again plea to the international community to not look away. Silence in the face of injustice only enables it.
@TahirImran So the one who used to say “If you can't stand the heat in the kitchen, you should not be in the kitchen” himself changed the decision under pressure? That's serious allegation and raises question on if he was fit to hold CJP position.
My latest for the Washington Post on Imran Khan. The legendary cricketer and politician Pakistan can jail, censor but never erase. @PostOpinions

My sons Sulaiman & @kasim_khan_1999 applied for visas in January (again… ) to allow them to visit their father @ImranKhanPTI in Pakistan. The Pakistan consulate states that online visa processing normally takes 7–10 working days. It has now been 60 days. This despite the public promise that they could safely travel there to see their father after 4 years, made by both Defence Minister @khawajaMAsif to @mehdirhasan & PM spokesperson @mosharrafzaidi to @SkyYaldaHakim
Meanwhile, they are not allowed to speak to him on the phone, nor send him a letter. They haven’t seen him since 2022 after he was shot in an assassination attempt.
This is an appeal directly to Pakisan’s PM @CMShehbaz to please allow Imran Khan’s two sons to see their father asap, particularly since, by all accounts, his health is in decline.
This guy is literally a Pakistani Epstein for the nastiest things he has said under the pretext of "comedy", this podcast should be The Pakistani Epstein. He comes up with the most bizarre rhetoric that his foji-thoko feeds him. I hope one day someone drags him to court and jail.
What an utterly disgusting thing to say, @Shehzad89.
Which Pakistani would ever celebrate the carnage and slaughter of Pakistani school children? Who in the diaspora is advocating for Pakistan to be bombed?
By juxtaposing your words with a picture of the Pakistani-European diaspora @MediaCentrePWA, you are deliberately implying that these human rights defenders would do any of those heinous things. It's a despicable smear and a dishonest tactic.
In reality, those in the diaspora engaging with their representatives and holding them accountable for supporting military authoritarianism in Pakistan are the true patriots. They call for democracy and better human rights conditions in Pakistan not through bombing campaigns, but through accountability, targeted sanctions, and diplomatic pressure.
This kind of inflammatory rhetoric is deliberately designed to undermine legitimate debate and defiles the memory of those lost at APS.
