@unsurprisedbyit@alwaysin2out@julia_y13 Realized I'm letting you get the better of me and get under my skin. Have a wonderful rest of your day while i get back to studying and broadening my knowledge. Maybe the world *should* have free healthcare and college.
@unsurprisedbyit@alwaysin2out@julia_y13 You don't think the people who take care of hundreds of snotty nosed, booger trailing kids want to be able to visit the doctor when they inevitably get sick? You want them getting your kids sick because they cant afford meds? Typically jobs offer health coverage, yeah.
@unsurprisedbyit@alwaysin2out@julia_y13 I will when my parents get paid for doing the work of 5 people because schools are understaffed. Because they're being underfunded. Because people don't value education anymore. Because our leaders are pushing us not to with stuff like this. Do you see how it connects?
@unsurprisedbyit@alwaysin2out@julia_y13 EXACTLY. That’s exactly, nail on the head, what i’m telling the other guy. If the parents don’t support education at home, and in turn support the school, their children will come out having sat and stared at a wall for 12 years. YOUUUU have to put in effort to learn man!
@unsurprisedbyit@alwaysin2out@julia_y13 Healthcare ain’t free, they have no retirement accounts. I’m using FAFSA for my own college. They pay maybe 100$ every few semesters to help with books. It’s ok to say you don’t know how this shit works ok, just suck it up man
@alwaysin2out@unsurprisedbyit@julia_y13 YOU have to keep working. YOU do your homework. YOU study for your tests. And boom, you can read too. But if you DON’T, and your parents beg and scream for them to let you pass anyways threatening to sue, then you can’t read. So sad.
@alwaysin2out@unsurprisedbyit@julia_y13 Teachers are not babysitters. I’m so sorry your parents didn’t prepare you for school or encourage education outside of the classroom and let you throw things. YOUR parents did that. Its not in their job description to teach you 100% of everything, they give you a lot of it and +
@alwaysin2out@unsurprisedbyit@julia_y13 My house made 80k total, both parents. They did not get a vary feed pension because they swapped schools whenever we’d move. Teacher pensions don’t work like that. Summers off but you don’t get paid for it either so now you have to find a summer job for a weird few weeks off.
@craigfromma Isn’t the answer to a lot of this is just free college for everyone? I don’t understand why that isn’t as popular of an option. We’re already sending those taxes off to Israel for all of THEIR citizens to get free college, why don’t we just put it towards something for ourselves?
@alwaysin2out@unsurprisedbyit@julia_y13 As someone raised by two regular schoolteachers, you are so wildly wrong it’s not even funny dude. Have you taught? Lived on those salaries? Explain to me how the summer pay works because I can if you can’t. It wasn’t anything fun, that’s for sure.
yeah man it’s not like they’re completely banning poor people from studying certain subjects. Tuition prices have soared—entirely their fault—and it’s hard, yknow? all they did was remove the poors’ ability to use a workaround to access this incredibly expensive higher +
will delete later, unorganized rambles based on how much i hate this country right now. It sucks that empathy would fix 98% of our problems but you can’t forcefeed empathy to people who don’t view you as human in the first place. If you’re just property, numbers on a screen,
