Today, Russia expressed its thanks for the lifting of sanctions on diesel exports by dropping five glide bombs on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia. As of now, sadly, twelve people have been confirmed killed, including three children. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Another fourteen people have been injured, and two of them are in critical condition – the doctors are fighting to save their lives. The status of twelve more people who may have been there is still being verified. All emergency services are at the scene, and search-and-rescue operations are underway. Overnight, thirteen of our regions came under attack. Residential buildings, infrastructure, and railway facilities have been damaged.

Last night confirmed once again that in Russia, they take any easing of pressure to mean they can keep fighting, to mean they can keep dropping bombs on cities. Different signals are needed. Russia must understand that it needs to stop the war, and for that to happen, Russia must feel its losses. Right now, it is our long-range capabilities that are ensuring this. And we will respond to Russian strikes. I thank everyone who is helping.

Russian nuclear terrorism is extremely dangerous for Ukraine and Europe.

‼️A Russian drone attacked the grounds of Ukraine’s Institute for Nuclear Research in Kyiv on September 30, where the WWR-M research reactor is located.

The fire caused by the attack was quickly extinguished. No one was injured. The reactor and safety-critical systems were not damaged, and no increase in radiation levels was recorded.

The reactor has been shut down since February 2022, with its core fully unloaded, and is currently used only for scheduled maintenance.

The State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate confirmed the drone strike. It was "an attack on a peaceful nuclear facility that serves exclusively scientific and research purposes, and represents yet another cynical disregard by Russia for internationally recognized principles and standards of nuclear and radiation safety, as well as a war crime."

104 children and 60 staff were inside. Thankfully, everyone took shelter in time and there were no casualties.

The drone’s warhead failed to detonate and was found on the second floor.

I spoke with President of Finland @AlexStubb and briefed him in detail on the situation following the Russian strikes and the new escalation of terror against our cities and communities. For almost the entire day, since last night, Kyiv and our other cities and regions have been under air raid alerts, with a constant threat from jet-powered “shaheds.” There were ballistic missile strikes overnight too.
