A little more time in the Wimbledon grounds today. I walked past a stall where you can write something inspirational on a tennis ball provided. One word that helped at a time when it really mattered. Being here, there was only one word I could think of ππΎβΊπ
@mersthram@leurbostviking@ViewFromTheQ I must say this was the first time I was really worried about leaving stuff there. Hopefully everyone will get their belongings back intact.
@CFCNoah1@leurbostviking@ViewFromTheQ Yes, it's all those things. But today there was one person checking in the luggage on the left hand side. She could either keep ticketing the bags or drag them inside the tent. The right hand side had several stewards and the queue kept moving relatively smoothly.
@YaoLin925864@gragytpmv@ViewFromTheQ We were near! I told you I love your shorts π Sad about the result but he can be so proud of himself. One of the best matches I've seen here.
@YaoLin925864@gragytpmv@ViewFromTheQ Somehow I've only seen your message now. We've had very intermittent mobile signal here. Thank you for your kind words! What a match it turned out to be. Worth every penny and all the time in the queue. I hope you loved it as much as I did β€οΈ
@YaoLin925864@gragytpmv@ViewFromTheQ You're more than welcome! I'm always so glad when people enjoy their experience here.
I asked a friend because I wasn't certain. She said gangway 26. I attached a photo of the seating layout.
Ask away if you need any more info π
@YaoLin925864@gragytpmv@ViewFromTheQ Amazing! I kept meaning to ask but had terrible signal for most of the day. Fabulous! Happy for you! If you don't know, gangways 8 and 12 are opposite the umpire and get the sun, gangways 26 and 30 are behind the umpire and get more shade π
@MattJoseph459@ChrisBrownSport@ViewFromTheQ I agree, but how would buying tickets online be any different? Some of the people attending the 2012 Olympics asked me to point out which one was Federer. All tickets sold online.
@YaoLin925864@gragytpmv@ViewFromTheQ I wouldn't be so sure. Many are here specifically for Serena and quite a big Polish contingent for Iga. I'd say there are more international supporters than local ones. Plus, lots of people want the Centre Court experience.
@mattracquet Amen! I've been coming for 15 years and wouldn't have it any other way. People forget that the show court queue is for a tiny percentage of tickets. We choose to be here. The year after covid I got tickets online and felt more tired commuting than camping. Long live The Queue! βΊ
