Using cox survival analysis we find that women, the young and graduates face lower probabilities of finding employment in urban labour markets even after a year of job search. Things have become worse post pandemic.

The paper uses survival estimation techniques to examine duration of unemployment experienced by urban Indians and degree of success in finding work. We construct & work with PLFS Urban panels that allow for more dynamic explorations than what earlier cross sectional data allowed
