The latter is strictly an imposition on surrounding people. It's just noise they want, and forced onto others.

Vague suspicion of only a few doesn't inoculate.

@SeEardStapaEce @cremieuxrecueil Wikipedia can be seen as dubious sourcing, people of many persuasions can vaguely be thought of as hacks. This is not an isolated current in the ecosystem, and enough of those launder them all.

There's certainly industry and infrastructure in place for just that.
