BREAKING:

Pakistan has finally reopened a key border crossing with Iran after a week-long suspension that worsened the Pakistan's LPG shortage ahead of winter.

Pakistan could not keep the border closed for longer as LPG supplies tightened and prices continued to rise.

The return of Iranian LPG supplies could help ease the nationwide shortage and bring down rising energy and food prices across Pakistan.

As millions around the world are affected by the energy crisis triggered by the Iran war, a reminder of Imran Khan’s warning in 2019. Speaking at the @USIP in Washington, D.C., Pakistan’s then-Prime Minister cautioned against a military conflict with Iran and the far-reaching consequences it could unleash.

“I’m not sure whether all the countries realize the gravity of the situation if there’s a conflict with Iran. People don’t understand, you know, this is not going to be the same as Iraq. This could be much, much, much worse.” #Statesman #FreeImranKhan

🇵🇰 🇮🇷 Iran Halts LPG Exports to Pakistan

Iran has cut off LPG exports to Pakistan following Islamabad’s closure of the border with Iran under US pressure.

Iran supplies approximately 50% of Pakistan’s total LPG imports.

According to Reuters, the price of a 12 kg LPG cylinder has surged from 4,500 Pakistani rupees ($16) to 7,000 rupees ($25) within days, with prices potentially rising further.

🇵🇰 EXCLUSIVE: IMRAN KHAN'S SONS SAY THE PAKISTANI GOVERNMENT IS TRYING TO KILL THEIR FATHER!

I spoke again with Qasim and Sulaiman Khan, and this conversation was the most heartbreaking.

Not only is their father, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, still in solitary confinement, but his three courageous sisters, Aleema, Uzma and Noreen, have now also been arrested

And when @PTIofficial supporters hit the streets, many were arrested, beaten, and even killed!

Imran Khan’s sons say they haven't spoken to their father in over 6 months, nobody has seen him for 2 months, and they're increasingly worried about his deteriorating health.

I asked them the hardest question of all: Do they still believe they’ll ever see their father again?

Qasim admitted, he has very little hope, but they will never stop fighting

I told them both I wouldn't give up hope.

And I meant it.

🚨🇵🇰 Imran Khan's family says Pakistani authorities are using a LEGAL maze to keep his sisters behind bars.

And the statement raises allegations that go far beyond ordinary public-order detention...

Aleema and Uzma Khan were acquitted on Feb 25 in cases later cited to justify their detention, while they had bail in other cases. They say Noreen Niazi had no criminal case registered against her.

After the initial 30-day detention period expired, the women were not released despite no fresh MPO detention order being issued.

Most seriously, the family says Aleema now faces terrorism proceedings and alleges another case is awaiting announcement, part of what it describes as an effort to keep her jailed.

Rubina accuses authorities of using terrorism charges and repeated procedural delays to prevent their release, while questioning why the courts have not brought the detentions to an end.
