This paper makes you feel that discussions about AI will replace programmers might be heading in completely the wrong direction.
The emergence of AI Agents isn't about making software engineers more efficient at their jobs, but about rendering the very act of permanently encoding decision logic into software increasingly unnecessary.
What the author is describing is a more fundamental paradigm shift: The essence of traditional software engineering is humans hardcoding judgment logic into code if-else statements, state machines, algorithms these are all ways of pre-baking human decisions.
But in Agent systems with LLMs as the core reasoning engine, code becomes a temporarily generated, use-and-discard tool.
For each task, the Agent dynamically generates the needed code, executes it, and then discards it.
Decisions are no longer pre-encoded but dynamically produced through LLM reasoning loops at runtime.
This isn't incremental improvement it's a structural replacement of the software production paradigm.
think the most noteworthy detail in this perspective is: This isn't just an upgrade to productivity tools; it's a transformation in the role of software as a concept itself.
In the past, code was the center of the system, with Agent frameworks as the shell.
Now, the LLM reasoning loop is the center, and code has become a temporary auxiliary inside that shell.
If this trend continues, the core competency of software engineering might no longer be writing good code, but designing reliable reasoning constraint boundaries.
In the past, focused on writing maintainable code; in the future, might need to focus more on designing reliable reasoning boundaries.

Google engineer:
"In 2026 if you aren't building AI agents it's crazy how behind you are
at Google, 85% of our engineers were running self-improving agentic loops & graphs"
in this 32-minute talk a Google engineer reveals how the future of agentic coding will look
worth more than 10 paid agentic courses
watch today, then explore how to build self-improving agents with graphs in article below
Claude Code creator, Boris Cherny:
"I'm not prompting my agents anymore.
I'm building Loops and Graphs that do it for me."
In 10 minutes he explains how they do agentic engineering at Anthropic, and why they stopped prompting a long time ago.
The missing piece most people skip: you don't prompt agents to work. You build Loops and Graphs that prompt them for you.
Watch it, then read the full guide on Loops and Graphs below
A senior engineer with 20 years of experience built an AI agent that runs like a full time employee. It works on a loop. 24/7. 🤯
He called it Lloyd. Here is what it actually does.
Lloyd has its own database. Its own ticketing system. Think of it like giving your AI agent its own internal Jira that only it manages.
Every few minutes, Lloyd runs a heartbeat. A cycle of automated checks:
→ Scans email for new customer bug reports
→ Before creating a ticket, it searches its own database for previous related work
→ Checks if any documentation on the website is outdated
→ Reads the app's live logs to find problems nobody reported yet
→ If it spots a bug or has an idea for improvement, it creates its own ticket and flags it for the human to review
600 tickets managed so far. Lloyd found bugs that no customer reported.
Surfaced patterns from logs that did not throw errors but looked wrong. Created enhancement ideas on its own.
Here is why this matters.
Most people use AI agents as chatbots. Ask a question, get an answer, done. This engineer gave his agent memory, autonomy, and a database.
Every ticket it handles makes it smarter about the next one. Compounding knowledge. Just like a real team member who has been at the company for years.
The agent is not waiting to be told what to do. It is proactively finding work that needs doing.
This is the difference between using AI and employing AI.
Don't waste 2 years learning to become an AI agentic engineer in 2026.
Andrew Ng, the godfather of AI, gave the complete playbook to become one from scratch.

Anthropic engineer:
"You're not supposed to prompt Claude. You're supposed to build a system that prompts itself."
In 45 minutes, she breaks down how Anthropic builds agents that remember, learn from their mistakes, and get smarter with every run.
Worth more than any paid course you'll find on building agents.

People try to buy HERBAL COLOURS to protect their skin and hair for 1 day of Holi. But why don’t we pay attention to the colours we put INSIDE our bodies for 365 days a year?
In this video I talk about some food colours which are banned in certain parts of the world but are allowed in India and are known to cause adverse effects if consumed in excess.
We should pay attention to the colours we put in our bodies, the same way we pay attention to colours we put on our face during holi.
Share to spread awareness and Happy Holi!
