@mfjlewis Not to mention that as priests we can preach at any length we want but let’s limit the laity (who often times likely knew the deceased better than we do) to 3 small minutes and a level of scrutiny like the Pentagon. The disconnect between clergy and laity grows once more.
@Joeinblack I’m consoled that Canada is not the only victim of over regulation. We appear to have very similar issues. It’s gotten increasingly worse with the last 12 years of our current government. Every sector is struggling and the response is always more regulation.
@CharlesinRome@Crux I wholeheartedly agree and it is a growing concern. The sheer disconnect, which is often exposed between some clergy and the lived reality of the faithful, is expanding year after year but very little is said about it. Thank you for this.

@carbo_al I’m a priest and sometimes I still do it. It’s over a decade and I still struggle with the translation and learned responses from my youth. I seldom give it any mind, I am merely grateful there is a response at all
