Kindly grant extension tonight only.
Let people have a relaxed weekend.

Dear Chartered Accountants,
I know you are trying your best. But sorry to say - even your best may not be enough this time.
You have been robbed of valuable working days by the new compliance calendar.
Shifting the non-audit ITR due date was a good decision for non-audit taxpayers. But the other side cannot be ignored.
Tax audit professionals have effectively lost around 31 days this year.
And these 30 days are not 30 full working days.
The first few days go into getting back into the tax-audit rhythm. Festivals take away some working days. And many professionals may have genuine health or family commitments.
Then comes the reality of Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
Unskilled or insufficient accounting staff.
Clients busy with their own businesses.
Delayed data.
Incomplete records.
Constant follow-ups.
And clients who sometimes underestimate the time required for a proper audit.
This ground reality cannot be understood merely by looking at a compliance calendar.
Demanding reasonable additional time is not wrong.
It does not mean CAs are incapable of completing their work.
It means that quality professional work requires adequate and reasonable time.
And we should not have to fight this battle every year.
Two things are needed:
Immediate relief:
Give reasonable additional time for the current year's tax audits.
Permanent solution:
Shift the tax audit due date to 31 October permanently and maintain a reasonable gap between the non-audit ITR and tax audit deadlines.
A compliance calendar should work for the profession - not make the profession work against an unrealistic calendar.
Don't suffer in silence.
Speak for what is right.

@FinMinIndia@IncomeTaxIndia#ExtendTaxAuditdate Sir request for extension of Tax Audit due date to 31st October every year permanently. September 30th is not a practical due date for reasons of rainy season and Ganapati festival season.

No one demanded an extension of the 31st July or 31st August due dates because sufficient time was available.
But completing Tax Audit within one month is practically impossible. Quality audit requires proper verification, review and reporting.
Reuquest Extension upto 31st Oct For Tax audit.

The demand of the majority of tax professionals is simple and practical:
• Tax Audit Report — permanently fixed at 31st October
• ITR filing for audited cases — 30th November
• Company statutory forms/ROC filings — 31st December
A stable compliance calendar is better for professionals, taxpayers and the system itself.

Tax Audit Due Date: A Simple Comparison
Earlier:
Non-Audit ITR Due Date → 31 July
Tax Audit Due Date → 30 September
⏳ Gap → 2 Months
Now:
Non-Audit ITR Due Date → 31 August
Tax Audit Due Date → 30 September
⏳ Gap → Only 1 Month
With the Non-Audit ITR deadline shifted to 31 August, the Tax Audit deadline of 30 September has become increasingly impractical.
Demand: Tax Audit Due Date should be extended to 31 October, providing a reasonable and workable time gap for tax professionals and taxpayers

Requesting @IncomeTaxIndia@FinMinIndia & @nsitharamanoffc to extend the Tax Audit report due date for AY 2026-27 by at least 15–30 days, preferably till 31st October 2026. The current timeline is too tight to complete the tax audit process properly. 🙏
#TaxAudit@PMOIndia
This Sunday, let’s make the demand heard! 📢
Extend the due date of Tax Audit Reports to 31st October.
A 27–30 day window for completing 100+ audits is not practical and risks compromising audit quality.

Tax Audit due date should be PERMANENTLY moved to 31st Oct.
No revenue loss to govt , taxes are paid via advance tax/self-assessment regardless.
Just end the yearly extension cycle. #TaxAudit#ICAI#CBDT@IncomeTaxIndia
