I’ve worked hard to stay informed this election. I’ve listened. I’ve watched. I’ve read widely. And I’ve made my decision.
I won’t vote Conservative — not because of tax cuts or slogans.
Because of how Pierre Poilievre talks about using the Notwithstanding Clause.

Why I’m Endorsing Mark Carney and the Liberals
Canada is at a crossroads. Prime Minister Mark Carney and the Liberals offer the experienced leadership Canada urgently needs.
My full statement:

In my opinion Mark Carney reminds me more of the Progressive Conservatives of the past. Balancing solid economic plans while respecting Canada's long tradition of strong social programs.
Pierre Poilievre's new conservatives remind me too much of the US republicans.
Easy choice
Not long ago Pierre Poilievre said he does not believe in woke social programs like public healthcare. No doubt in my mind he would cut all programs that help families. #BSOM

@yvrteacher @MrBlairsClass Well therein lies the confusion as we were told in our pro-d that an A does not mean exceeding- needs to demonstrate knowledge above grade level is what were were told - that is on the ministry for poor rollout
@yvrteacher @MrBlairsClass But I would argue that proficient is too vague - from a C/C+ to a low A? Even with the feedback kids invariably look at the grade first and when they see proficient they think they are doing okay - then when they start to get marks they are asking why they are not at A or B?
@yvrteacher @MrBlairsClass I don’t think it is bad for elementary but past gr7 it is not useful. Kids honestly don’t care - they equate extending with an A - they still just look at the mark and not the feedback- better to give them a letter grade and then constructive comments/detailed on report card.
@MrBlairsClass Correct- very few exemplars or anything to go by - we were told exceeding is basically above grade level understanding and then have to figure it out like you said.
@MrBlairsClass Problem with proficiency scales is there is little incentive to do well. Kid puts in effort - gets proficient- kid puts in a so-so effort and gets proficient. Opportunities for extending not provided. Letter grades for gr8 and above with good feedback would be better imo.
