Scotty, you are supposed to be the Treasury Secretary and yet every time you open your mouth you prove you don’t understand the basics of economics or government. Now you are out here talking about things you understand even less. Antifa is not an organization, it has no membership rolls, no headquarters, no funding structure, no leaders, and therefore cannot be designated anything under U.S. law. It is a loose term for anti-fascist activists, not some formal group.

On top of that, the president does not have the authority to designate domestic groups as terrorist organizations. Under U.S. law, the State Department can designate foreign organizations as terrorists, but no president has the legal power to label any group of American citizens that way. That would violate the Constitution and basic civil liberties.

So when you repeat this line about “declaring Antifa a terrorist organization,” you are either lying or exposing that you have no idea how the law works. Either way, it is not true, it has no legal effect, and it is just another scare tactic to rile up the base.
