Excited to announce a faculty job opening in geochemistry and geochronology! Looking for someone to join our department's exploration of Earth and planetary evolution. Please share widely, and feel free to reach out with q's. https://t.co/CK5h2pifIv
Come help us build a cohort of interdisciplinary postdocs focusing on real-world sustainability challenges! Applications for this new program are due May 28. https://t.co/8GjCppzzGg
Excited to share that a paper I started working on in 🌟2016🌟 is now published, more than a year after I first submitted it! Our dataset is publicly available (of course) if you're interested in mid-Holocene paleo precipitation!

This flowstone from Bear Cave in Yukon Territory is especially cool--the top layer (where a chip has been removed) dates to 419,000 yrs ago, and appears to reflect the most recent period of permafrost thaw at the Arctic Circle in NW Canada https://t.co/LE6L3C7jaN
@DrEvanGowan@Vakstwit Great, thank you! This is also relevant for our work on the response of southwestern U.S. lakes during pre-MIS 2 glacials, as they are sensitive to Laurentide size.
We used cave deposits to uncover the history of Canadian permafrost, finding that thaw was much more common prior 400,000 yrs ago. Like @Vakstwit's results from Siberia, looks like a shift in NH permafrost stability after MIS11. Why? Love a good mystery. https://t.co/LE6L3C7jaN

ICYM March's @CafeSciBoston, it's available online! In this talk, @earth2christine and @gserratomarks describe their search for ancient stalagmites, relict shorelines, and fossilized algae that serve as natural archives of Earth's changing climate. https://t.co/m817SeEg6e
NSF is sponsoring 10(!) student and early career scientists to attend the Geochronology GRC. Applications from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged! Info here: https://t.co/C9QtxG3B7K. @earthtime4567@EarthRates @DenaSmithNufio @NABGSocial@sacnas@geosociety
Our new paper is out now in Paleoceanography and Paleoclimatology (yes they let in stalagmites now). Check it out for a great story on tropical rainfall dynamics at the edges of the monsoon during the deglaciation. https://t.co/HsIgdS1m0s @paleocliMIT
New record shows the last 240,000 yrs of Saharan dust variations track summer insolation, with much less influence from glacial-interglacial changes than previously thought. Great work, @chachaussette! https://t.co/L5Lr4HAQPJ
These first-year undergraduates have been working really hard this term in consultation with researchers, students and cultural experts on the Navajo Nation. Excited to see their final project come together for the presentation tomorrow night!
Join @MITterrascope's final presentation on Wednesday, 12/5 at 7pm in room 10-250:
This year’s topic is increasing water security on Navajo Nation by developing proposed solutions that blend cutting-edge technology with traditional Navajo practices and culture.
Big lakes in the SW US during the last deglaciation linked to tropical Pacific changes in our new @ScienceAdvances paper--pointing out importance of better representation of tropical Pacific in models. Thx to @Dan_E_Ibarra for help! https://t.co/c1OMTHQ7Yc
