My wife and I got into it last night about the grocery bill.
I pulled up an old Target order from February 2020.
28 items. $64.50.
Added every single one back to the cart just to see.
$158.30.
Same 28 items. Same store. Same cart.
$93.80 more.
In five years.
We didn’t buy more.
Didn’t upgrade anything.
Didn’t add a single extra item.
Just needed the same things we always needed.
They told us inflation was transitory. They told us it was under control. They told us the economy was strong.
Our cart didn’t get any of those memos.
145% increase in five years.
Not one member of Congress has looked at a grocery receipt in decades.
And it shows.
Something I realized when I became a parent is there's a window of time when your parents are healthy, your kids are little, and everyone gets to experience multiple generations of family spending time together. Cherish this time and don’t take a single moment of it for granted.
This is actually rather terrible. I’m not mad about stopping the changing of clocks twice a year but it should be STANDARD time for the sake of our circadian rhythm.
BREAKING: The House has passed legislation to make Daylight Saving Time permanent nationwide, ending the twice-a-year clock changes by a 308-117 vote. Backed by President Trump, the bill now heads to the Senate. If approved and signed into law, Americans would no longer have to change their clocks.
Unless you have gone from being chronically ill to healthy or you have extensively read the literature, you can not comprehend how much of your mental chatter is utter bs created by networks that misbehave.
If you are not focusing on nutrient maxing, gut health etc and you suffer from any mental health issue, you don't give yourself any chance at recovery.
@TedCornwell@StrongBordersTX My son works at HEB in the summers. He has a new full time colleague in the bakery department who just graduated with a Computer Science degree from UTSA. Pretty sure he would have been interested in a job at USAA.
Do not eat these. Discard immediately if you recognize any of these in yours or a loved one’s kitchen, it’s the easiest act of love you can do for them today.
A French study in PLOS Medicine examined the impact of emulsifiers (food additives used to improve texture and extend shelf life) on cancer risk.
Researchers analyzed data from 92,000 adults over nearly 7 years and found that certain emulsifiers significantly increased cancer risk:
Mono & diglycerides of fatty acids (E471)—found in processed baked goods, margarine, and ice cream—were linked to:
15% higher risk of overall cancer
24% higher risk of breast cancer
46% higher risk of prostate cancer
Carrageenan (E407 & E407a)—a thickening agent in dairy alternatives, deli meats, and plant-based products—was linked to:
32% higher risk of breast cancer.
Cancer is complex and multifactorial, but one thing is certain: the food we eat plays a massive role in shaping our long-term health. Cutting out ultra-processed foods and focusing on whole, nutrient-dense foods is one of the most powerful steps you can take to reduce disease risk.
Thank you to my friend Vani Hari for this image + bringing awareness to this critical issue.
Go to scripture:
37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “What should we do, men and brothers?” 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all those who are far away, as many as the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40 And with many other words he solemnly urged and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this crooked generation!” 41 So those who accepted his message were baptized, and on that day about three thousand souls were added. (Acts 2:37–41)
@ChristopherHale@PabloReports What an utter fool. He’s educated enough to know history and therefore know better. There’s also no excuse for him to think this type of suicidal empathy is what Christ teaches. It’s not.
You put the young into two buckets: 1) lazy/indoctrinated 2) hardworking/patriotic. No. There are hard-working young people who’ve done “everything right” only to find the rug pulled on them. They are rightfully angry and so are the rest of us (especially parents to Gen Z).
This post just shows the administration either is tone deaf and clueless or willingly selling out Americans while gaslighting the country.
@newstart_2024 It’s basically the Primal Blueprint. We used to not know how to maintain or lose weight but now we do, yet it’s amazing how so many people still find it incredibly difficult to change their habits.
@ThomasEWoods I used to think Trump was just being randomly mean to Ted (“Lyin’ Ted”) like he was to all his opponents but now I think he really had him pegged. Ted had only lived in TX for a year when he was five. No way he remembers this event and related it to being Texan. Absurd.
