PALTECH technology recycles thermoplastic polymer materials from any source. Our technology plays a critical role in delivering a circular polymer economy.
We’re delighted to have launched flower planters, made from 100% recycled soft plastic, in collaboration with @GreenGenIreland and @paltech_ie. Minister of State for Land Use and Biodiversity @pippa_hackett said the initiative is a good example of the circular economy in action.
Bringing these flowerpots to the market, made entirely from end-of-life waste soft plastic, is an important step in creating a closed loop solution for plastic at this time. We recognise we have more to do and continue to work hard to meet our packaging targets.
Our priority remains to remove plastic where we can, or reduce its use on our products when we can’t remove it completely. We’re working hard to ensure that any packaging material we do use is recyclable for consumers and can go on to be used again. https://t.co/vEheGhuHpW
We’re delighted to have won the Business Recycling Award at this year’s @PakmanAwards. This award recognises our important work on packaging reduction, prioritising the recycling of packaging and minimisation of food waste. https://t.co/AGZESCSzpO @TescoIrl@RepakRecycling
We’re proud to be the first retailer in Ireland to create a recycling solution for soft plastics. In-store collection points will be rolled out to all stores by the end of this month and customers can simply leave behind unwanted soft plastic packaging.

Using @paltech_ie patented technology, these plastics will be flaked and prepared for processing into construction materials to be used in our store network, for example as car-park barriers and signage, in the near future. Find out more here: https://t.co/UCOZtcH5YJ
We’re proud to announce that we are the first Irish retailer to create a soft-plastic recycling solution. Partnering with @paltech_ie, we will be rolling out collection points at all stores, allowing customers to remove soft plastic packaging at the end of their shopping trip.

Had a little dig around some new data from Eurostat that flew under the radar.
Turns out Ireland is producing the highest volume of plastic waste per person in the EU, while having the fourth worst plastic recycling rate.
Not a great combination.
