Recuerdos del Ejercicio Salitre 2014:

El Ejercicio Salitre 2014 fue un entrenamiento aéreo multinacional organizado por la Fuerza Aérea de Chile (FACh). Se realizó del 6 al 17 de octubre de 2014 en el norte de Chile (principalmente en la Base Aérea Cerro Moreno en Antofagasta y Los Cóndores en Iquique), reuniendo a cerca de 40 aeronaves y personal de cinco países.

Objetivos y Características
Simulación de paz: Se basó en un escenario ficticio de coalición internacional autorizado por la ONU para mantener la paz y resolver una crisis regional.
Interoperabilidad: Buscó mejorar la coordinación y el trabajo conjunto usando estándares y protocolos de la OTAN, con el inglés como idioma oficial de comunicación.
Escenario geográfico: Puso a prueba las capacidades de las tripulaciones en el Desierto de Atacama debido a sus condiciones climáticas extremas.

Países y Medios Participantes

Chile (FACh): F-16 MLU, F-5E Tigre III, aviones tanqueros KC-135E y helicópteros SAR (Bell 412 y S-70).
Argentina (FAA): Aviones de combate A-4AR Fightinghawk.
Brasil (FAB): F-5EM Tigre II y un transporte KC-130 Hércules.
Estados Unidos (USAF): Cazas F-16C Fighting Falcon y un avión tanquero KC-135R.
Uruguay (FAU): Aeronaves de ataque A-37 Dragonfly (participando por primera vez en este ejercicio).

De los 18 cazas F-5E/F Tiger III que llegaron a Chile, hoy 12 permanecen completamente operativos custodiando el sur desde Punta Arenas a la Antártica (con dos unidades perdidas en accidentes a lo largo de su historia).

🗣️ Luis Enrique: I coached Leo Messi at Barcelona, and today I can no longer stay silent because I want FIFA to treat this issues before the next World Cup.

Messi is undoubtedly one of the greatest footballers I've ever worked with. His talent is unquestionable. But greatness should never be used to justify what many fans now see as controversial decisions.

What I witnessed in this World Cup has left me frustrated and disappointed. The officiating, the inconsistency, and the perception that certain teams receive favorable treatment are damaging the credibility of football.

For me, Cristiano Ronaldo's legacy was built on hard work, discipline, consistency, and merit. Whether you support him or not, his achievements speak for themselves without needing controversy to define them.

As a coach, I will never support anything that compromises the integrity of the game. Football should be won on the pitch-not through decisions that leave millions of fans questioning the fairness of the competition.

I'd rather lose with honor than win surrounded by controversy.
