MANDATORY V2V IN INDIA — AN INFLECTION POINT FOR DANLAW TECHNOLOGIES?

How a Microcap the market forgot can end up owning a piece of a new ₹25,000 Cr opportunity.

In the last few weeks. something happened that could completely change the fate of a lesser-known Indian microcap.

The Government of India moved to make Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication mandatory across the country.(DRAFT Presented)

Most people scrolled past the headline. A few will understand what it means.

And one listed company — Danlaw Technologies India Ltd — has spent nearly a decade quietly preparing for exactly this moment. I've held it since it was a ₹100 Cr microcap. I think the bigger chapter is only just starting.

Let me walk you through the whole thing.

1. THE TRIGGER

Early August 2026. MoRTH issues a draft notification to mandate V2V.

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has proposed amending the Central Motor Vehicles Rules to require a factory-fitted C-V2X unit in new vehicles — including two-wheelers.

Phased timeline:
→ From 1 Oct 2027 — voluntary fitments must comply with the new standard, AIS-230
→ From 1 Oct 2028 — the hard mandate. Every new L, M and N category vehicle must carry a certified V2V system.

Read that again. Every new two-wheeler. Every scooter. Every car, bus and truck.

If it passes in its current form, India becomes the first country in the world to mandate V2V down to the two-wheeler.

That's not a policy tweak. That's an entire market, created overnight, by regulation.

2. THE ENABLER THAT CAME FIRST

A mandate is useless if the technology has nowhere to run. So two months earlier, the government cleared the runway.

10 June 2026 — India delicensed the 5.9 GHz band (G.S.R. 466(E)).

5.9 GHz is the spectrum V2X runs on. Exempting it from licensing made it free to use — removing the single biggest bottleneck that has slowed V2X in other countries for years.

So now you have both halves:
Spectrum → free (the enabler)
Mandate → demand (the trigger)

The road is clear. The demand is being legislated into existence. The only question left is: who supplies it?

3. WHAT IS V2V AND C-V2X? (60 SECONDS)

The whole thesis rests on these basics, so let's be quick and clear.

V2V — Vehicle-to-Vehicle. Vehicles continuously broadcast their speed, position, direction and braking status to everything around them. So a vehicle "sees" danger beyond line of sight — around a blind corner, through fog, behind a truck — giving drivers (or the car's safety systems) extra seconds to react.

C-V2X — Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything. The technology that makes V2V work. A globally standardised (3GPP) system letting vehicles talk directly over 5.9 GHz — without any cellular network or SIM for the safety-critical messages.

And it doesn't stop at V2V. The same tech extends to V2I (infrastructure — traffic lights, roadside units), V2P (pedestrians) and V2N (network).

So a V2V mandate isn't "a chip in every car." It's the seed of a connected-mobility ecosystem — vehicles, roads and infrastructure all talking to each other.

Now — who's built to supply that ecosystem in India?

4. WHY THIS IS A DANLAW STORY

Danlaw didn't discover V2X when the mandate dropped. The group has been in it for years — roughly 7 years of active V2X engagement in India, longer globally.

Most tellingly: Danlaw was part of India's first V2X deployment.

Auto-tech markets are never won on a spec sheet. They're won on what a latecomer can't buy overnight:
experience → validation → OEM trust → certification → production nomination

A new entrant can build an OBU. It cannot instantly recreate years of interoperability testing, field deployment, OEM coordination and certification.

That's the moat. Not the box — everything around the box.
