Baker Mayfield on contract extension talks. “Not anywhere close to what we were thinking,” Mayfield said. “Would love to be here long term but as of right now that’s not exactly the case. But I’m under contract for 2026. The guys in that locker room, the staff know that I’m still gonna be me. I’m still going to do everything I can to help this team win a Super Bowl. TO me that’s the priority. Everything else will take care of itself. “
@Jared_NFLDraft@canawupass The hype isn’t fair to Brazzell either. Most 3rd round rookies don’t come in and dominate immediately. If he comes in and plays a role to start, that’s still a fantastic result
I like Chris Brazzell as much as the next guy but I feel the hype has gone way overboard in some cases. Seen stuff about him becoming WR2, and then there’s the debate with him and XL.
I don’t have significantly high expectations for him in 2026 like others.
Here is Panthers GM Dan Morgan and EVP of Football Ops Brandt Tillis giving plenty of credit to @ericeager_
For preparing the draft room for what could unfold in Round 1
"If you go by OTs likelihood to make it to our pick (19): Fano 12%, Proctor 37%, Freeling 53%, Lomu 70%"
Playing GM: Four hypothetical trades
*Keon Coleman to Baltimore for a 5th
*Cole Kmet to Carolina for a 3rd, late-round swaps
*Anthony Richardson to GB for a 5th
*Kayvon Thibodeaux to Saints for a 3rd

If memory serves me correctly, it was that “QB whisperer” moniker that was floated much more than “play-calling savant” when Canales was hired by #Panthers
That sounds more along the lines of player development/establishing confidence and identity. CEO may be more natural for DC
I think my rebuttal would just be, “was Canales hired because of his play calling acumen?”
The #Panthers were a deflated, afterthought of a franchise when Dave was hired. His alignment with Morgan and culture-building emphasis likely more appealing than proven prowess as a play caller imo. Perhaps Idzik is simply in better position to succeed in that full-time role, especially as an internal promotion that was already a significant cog in the offensive gameplan
@FPFO_Podcast It clears $6M to cut Chuba next offseason so this easily could be his last year. Also AJ Dillon has only played 7 games the past two seasons. I don’t have a strong opinion on Trevor Etienne, but there will be opportunities for him to stick around.
They keep saying “no excuses” when the defense has actually shown improvement. Meanwhile the offense had been below average and is still below average.
