The faces of the loved ones we lost in the Genocide against the Tutsi.
Each victim has a face and a name.
This 11-minute video is a small glimpse into the millions of moments and memories erased.
If each victim were given just one second on screen, it would take over 283 hours to see them all.
Thank you, Loic, for honoring them through this powerful tribute.

I want to thank H.E.Paul Kagame, First Lady Jeanette Kagame and my counterpart General Mubarak Muganga for the warm reception my delegation and I received in Rwanda. God bless the fraternal relations between Uganda and Rwanda.
Guys,
In my opinion, homework should be banned, or at the very least, reconsidered.
Hear me out. A child who leaves for school at 6 AM and returns at 6 PM is already exhausted. Yet, some schools pile on not just one but two sets of homework, leaving children with no time to rest, play, or even bond with their families.
By the time they finish their assignments, it’s bedtime. Parents barely get to have real conversations with their children beyond “Have you done your homework?” and “Eat, shower and go to bed.” The pressure leaves kids drained and parents frustrated. Family time is now a mere routine of supervision rather than connection.
This is what I suggest.
Schoolwork should end by 3PM, noneho tukongeraho an additional hour or two for revision until 5 PM.
If homework is necessary, it should be limited. We could consider one set for the weekend instead of overwhelming children daily.
Evenings should be for relaxation, bonding, and personal time.
A well-rested child is more productive than a burnt-out one.
Mugire Amahoro.
In the last month, Rwanda has shown you:
🔹The FDLR
🔹The European Mercenaries
🔹The offensive foreign forces
🔹The stockpiles of weaponry at our border.
Yet the world still downplays the gravity of the security threats we face. Why? Is it racism? Is it disdain? Is it a calculated geopolitical choice?
The only irrefutable proof left of the danger we face is our destruction. And it seems this is an acceptable outcome for many international actors. They will swoop in with something as truly useless as MONUSCO or another UNAMIR, then spend the next 20 years giving our people biscuits and cardboard.
One thing is certain: The Government of Rwanda will protect its people and everyone who lives here—resolutely and decisively. The question is not whether Rwanda will defend itself, but what must happen to prevent further escalation.
The answer is obvious. The root of this crisis lies in the DRC’s continued collusion with genocidal forces and its deliberate fueling of regional instability.
International actors must demand an immediate end to Kinshasa’s support for FDLR and associated extremist elements. The presence of offensive foreign forces in the region, operating under the guise of ‘peacekeeping,’ must be removed. Permanent security guarantees must also be established along our shared border.
Regarding the inter-Congolese conflict, dialogue between the DRC government and M23 is not only the most pragmatic approach but the only one that offers the prospect of lasting peace.
Anything short of this is a meaningless delay, a refusal to confront reality, and a failure to learn from history.
When President Félix Tshisekedi supported and armed the FDLR genocidal force, which he embedded in his own army, Belgium saw it but did nothing about it.
When President Tshisekedi publicly and repeatedly promised to overthrow the government of Rwanda and to bomb Kigali without setting boots on the ground, Belgium heard it loud and clear but remained silent.
When President Tshisekedi spent billions of dollars in heavy weaponry, including attack drones and fighter jets, to achieve his proclaimed goal, and when he put in place a military coalition made of local militias, FDLR genocidal force, Burundian and SAMIDRC forces, as well European mercenaries, for the same purpose, Brussels was fully aware but didn't act.
When the FARDC and its criminal militias persecute and kill, in broad daylight, the Congolese Tutsi in North Kivu, the Banyamulenge in South Kivu and the Hema in Ituri, Belgium is informed to the fullest but chose to look the other way.
And when the Belgian Foreign Minister claims that his country wants "a professional suspension process that preserves the gains of our longstanding cooperation for the benefit of the Rwandan people", this is not only pure neocolonial narrative, but also hypocrisy.
First, it's not the Kingdom of Belgium that takes care of the well-being of the Rwandan people but the Government of Rwanda itself.
Second, if Belgium was working for the "benefit of the Rwandan people", it would not be running around the world putting pressure on all our partners to end the development cooperation intended for that very "Rwandan people".
Third, Rwanda and History know too well how the Kingdom of Belgium usually behaves when it comes to defending the Rwandan people.
I rest my case.
Earlier today, I had a productive conversation with President João Lourenço @jlprdeangola and discussed the need for a long-term and sustainable solution to the ongoing situation in the DRC. We also reaffirmed our commitment to working with others on the continent to find a solution, while deepening our strong bilateral partnership going forward.
Ambassador Col. (Rtd) Dr. Joseph Karemera has passed on after over 10-years battling cancer.
Amb.Karemera was an ordinary man who accomplished extraordinary things in service to his country. As one of the founding members of the Rwandese Patriotic Front (RPF), Ambassador Karemera was on the frontlines during the war to liberate #Rwanda, using his skills as a medical doctor to treat injured soldiers.
Beyond his military service, Ambassador Karemera played his part in rebuilding the nation after the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi.
When I was young and first learnt of him as the Minister of Education, he was not just a leader, but a father figure—kind, approachable, and deeply invested in the future of Rwanda’s youth.
His mission after the genocide was clear: to give the next generation the opportunities he himself had struggled to obtain during decades in exile.
He worked tirelessly to secure scholarships for countless young Rwandans, sending them to universities overseas, including La Roche, where many will forever
One thing that I will always remember about Ambassador Karemera for was his firm position against academic dishonesty. The stories around this were intriguing.
He was a staunch advocate for merit-based education, believing that only those who genuinely earned their degrees should reap the benefits.
His zero-tolerance policy towards copying, suspending students found guilty of this for two or more years are legendary, making him both revered and feared.
It was common knowledge that that he would not hesitate to tear up degrees that were obtained through dishonest means, a symbolic act that highlighted his commitment to upholding the standards of Rwanda’s education system.
When confronted about the tearing up of degrees obtained through dubious means, he is remembered for boldly saying, “Ufite intare ayiziture.” 🤣🤣 adding, “In politics, I am a Minister; in the military, a Colonel; and in education, a Doctor. Everything I do is intentional and carefully calculated.”
His battle with cancer was long and difficult, and those close to him witnessed the toll it took. Yet even in his final years, Ambassador Karemera faced his illness with remarkable strength, continuing to work and serve his country. His resilience was a testament to the man he was—someone who stood tall in the face of adversity, refusing to be defined by the challenges before him.
Now, though he has rested, Ambassador Karemera’s legacy lives on. His contributions to Rwanda, both as a liberator and as a builder of futures, are footprints that will forever be etched in our history.
In our hearts and minds, his spirit continues to inspire, reminding us of the power of dedication, compassion, and unwavering service to the nation.
May he Rest In Peace. To the family, Mukomere.
