There it is. Giannis confirms he’s in for this season and believes in and is locked into this Bucks team. We can side bar the trade piece and focus on the basketball. Thank god
CC Sabathia last 3 starts in 2008:
5.2 IP | 1 ER | 105 pitches
7 IP | 1 ER | 108 pitches
CG | 0 ER | 122 pitches
All on 3 days’ rest.
In a walk year.
On a team that rented him.
He spilled his guts for glory.
For the “Giannis and Dame were a failed duo” crowd, I’ll just leave this here once more:
They were the highest scoring duo in the league both years they played together.
Became the first duo in NBA history to each record 24+ PPG, 4+ RPG, and 6+ APG in back-to-back seasons. No one had ever done it before. Not Kobe-Shaq, not Jordan-Pippen, not Stockton-Malone, not Magic-Kareem, not Wade-LeBron.
Most games each recording 25+ PTS and 10+ AST by any duo in NBA history.
A failure? On the offensive end especially, these guys were as dominant together as they come. Injuries, coaching, and poor roster construction around them were the ultimate downfall. They played less than 30 minutes together in the playoffs after everything, where Dame sacrificed his body to give them a chance, and devastatingly got hurt further in the process.
These guys were awesome as a unit. They loved each other, as teammates, and as friends. Both adapted their games to best fit the other. Sick and tired of all the discourse suggesting otherwise.
The end has been abrupt and shocking, but to know Dame is content with it all is a consolation.
Be glad we got to experience 0 and 34 in action, even if the result was less than desired.
Kyle Kuzma is the just the Basketball Gods’ way of punishing all the Bucks fans who complained about Khris Middleton. Unfortunately the rest of us are collateral damage
In 2021, after Giannis hyperextended his knee and the Bucks were tied 2-2 in the ECFs, Bucks fans had given up hope.
We were cursed. We were never winning a title. I didn’t even want to go to game 5. We were all in mourning. My daughter convinced me that we should go.
Then, Khris Middleton happened. He strapped the franchise on his back and carried the city of Milwaukee to the NBA Finals.
Game 5: 26pts, 13reb, 8ast, 2stl, 1blk
Game 6: 32pts (27 in the 2nd half)
Forever grateful for the memories.
If the best you can do is Kuzma, I’d rather see one last go around w/ Khris. Still can’t get over how good he was against the Pacers 9 MONTHS ago in the playoffs.
We never saw Giannis/Dame/Khris in the playoffs. Yes regular season Khris has looked rough at times but who cares.
David Stearns just spent more money on Juan Soto ($765MM) than he spent on the entire Brewers payrolls combined over his 7 seasons in Milwaukee (~$610MM)
Khris Middleton shot 58.5% in the midrange this season. 6% better in the than MPJ (2nd) & 7% better than KD (3rd).
Now shooting over 60.0% from the midrange in the playoffs. Dude was built to get tough buckets against tough defense.
