Greenland deal matches nearly all Trumps claims &
some Greenland sovereignty does go to the USA

After studying the full agreement text almost all claims by Trump are supported by the full agreement text.

Only on two points does the agreement not match the claims;
- no cost; not supported as the USA keeps funding the bill for its bases and troops
- permanent control over all other needs; No clause gives the United States civilian government, land title, resources, policing, or general public needs.

Sovereignty; some powers do go to the USA
Here the claims by Denmark and Greenland they have retained full sovereignty is not correct. While they retain sovereignty over title, land and flag, they do cede some sovereign powers;

◾️In defense matters U.S. overflight, landing, undersea access, and movement of forces are unrestricted; a new limit needs agreement of all three parties giving Us real veto pwoer.
◾️Non-NATO bases and lasting foreign forces are barred unless all three agree otherwise, again a veto power for the US.
◾️Non-allied control of mines, infrastructure, and other sensitive activity is barred unless all three agree it is not a threat. That last point is a veto: if Washington says no, the deal stays blocked.

To be clear this is not a sale of Greenland. But it is a legal hand over of some decision making in defense and in approval of sensitive investments.

An EU comparison is here fitting, EU Member states do not give the EU the soil or the flag, but they do give up the right to decide some matters by themselves. The same thing happens here. The country remains Danish-Greenlandic. The exclusive say over those security and investment questions does not.

And that will be the big political challenge for the prime ministers of Denmark and Greenland, as they claimed sovereignty stays in their hands, but that is not fully true.
