John Steenhuisen may have fallen from grace in the DA after key screwups, losing both his leadership role and ministerial position in a matter of months. But he's been treated with kid gloves compared to the brutal way black leaders in the party were treated for far less, and given such a soft landing. The double standards are grating.
Some thoughts ๐๐พ
I voted for Gayton McKenzie (& the PA) because he seemed to be doing good, impactful work in the Karoo. He posted his work regularly - like Dr Nasiphi Moya is doing currently in Tshwane.
I had hope that he would do more community-level work with greater power in parliament. I gave him one vote & gave ActionSA one vote.
After the elections, McKenzie became imbongi (a praise singer) & a vocal defender of Cyril Ramaphosa & the ANC.
He has gone back on his promises & today even speaks ill of ordinary SAns crying out about illegal foreigners, after he jumped & screamed "abaHambe" on stage.
If I supported Ramaphosa the way he does, I could've voted for the ANC, but I didn't. The ANC is corrupt, hates SAns & Ramaphosa is the worst president the country has had.
I'm very disappointed in Gayton McKenzie. I'm very disappointed in the PA.
At the time, it seemed like a good decision to vote for Gayton based on his work & where he said he wanted to put in necessary work. He's done a 180 since joining parliament & becoming a minister.
I'm sorry for voting for the PA & giving them power. I will not vote for them again. ๐๐ฝ
Now... we hold our breath to see if/when ActionSA will also disappoint us... coz seemingly all politicians serve their funders & not their voters nor ordinary SAns.
South Africans are in kak. We need non-racial "Afriforums" run by ppl like Vuyo Zungula, Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma & Dr Nasiphi Moya. Inde lendlela โ๐ฝ
@nasiphim@CityTshwane Maybe the team responsible for disconnections should do their job and you, as Mayor should concentrate on other more important issues? This PR stunts can never be the main functions of an executive mayor? Get investments 4 COT, make sure businesses r happy?
This is a property in Pretoria West that has an estimated 30 shacks with tenants being charged R1400 per month.
We have disconnected water, electricity and have removed dozens of illegal electricity connections. The discovery was made today by our IBEC team.
These interventions form part of ongoing efforts to enforce municipal by-laws, protect critical infrastructure, and ensure compliance with building regulations. @CityTshwane

2. Banks and Lotto knows exactly about the flow of money when we play and when we win?
3. How on earth is it NOT possible 4 Lotto / @AbsaSouthAfrica to know and inform the winner? BS!!
So sorry to hear about the passing of the senior SAPS officer, BUT, if lm to end my life due to bullying, l will make sure the perpetrator comes with me...to help those who stay behind...? Do l make sense...?
Ian Cameron, Chairperson of Parliamentโs Portfolio Committee on Police, has called for an urgent independent investigation into serious bullying allegations within the South African Police Service following the reported suicide of a senior police officer.
Cameron said it is alarming that there are reportedly 77 allegations against the Sunnyside Station Commander, yet no meaningful action appears to have been taken despite what he described as a pattern of abusive behaviour.
He stressed that while SAPS functions within a command-and-control structure where rank and discipline are important, those systems must never be used to excuse intimidation or bullying.
According to Cameron, seniority and abusive conduct cannot coexist in a professional police service.
He also said allegations of workplace bullying seem to be widespread in SAPS, with many officers reportedly approaching committee members to complain about mistreatment by senior officials.
Cameron described such a culture as unacceptable and inconsistent with the values of a democratic society.
He extended condolences to the family of the late lieutenant colonel and said the committee would continue pushing for reforms to improve workplace culture within SAPS.
