Damn. Finally achieved what I wanted 2 years ago. Now I have a scholarship and I get extra by working on my thesis in the lab. Now the goal is to make the most out of this blessing. 🙏
Looking forward to the time where I'm only studying or working but not doing both. No part time stuff. This is tiring. Get a scholarship and study full time or just quit school and focus on work.
the ube ice cream thing got insanely big although i do not hold any hostility towards the ice cream guy, the entire discourse sure did show how shallow the west sees filipinos and our culture
Mostly it's fiesta/party/gathering food, especially those shared by overseas workers and migrants who are homesick and found a Filipino community overseas.
Ube discourse here in X is wilder compared to the discourse in Instagram.
Honestly my only wish is that food content creators use raw ube (frozen or fresh) rather than powders/extracts in their recipes.
Also, use real ube and not purple sweet potato.
@jeypay5 Good point. Extracts/powders are more ube than a sweet potato. I just don't like it when creators make ube recipes while wondering/blabbering what it really is and/or confusing it with purple sweet potato. They should know what it is before making money and content out of it.
Seven dogs stolen from their owners have gone viral after escaping from an illegal transport truck and making their way home.
They traveled around 17 km together, led by a corgi across highways and fields, now safely back with their respective owners..🐶🐾🥺❤️
Dennis Ritchie created C in the early 1970s without Google, Stack Overflow, GitHub, or any AI ( Claude, Cursor, Codex) assistant.
- No VC funding.
- No viral launch.
- No TED talk.
- Just two engineers at Bell Labs. A terminal. And a problem to solve.
He built a language that fit in kilobytes.
50 years later, it runs everything.
Linux kernel. Windows. macOS.
Every iPhone. Every Android.
NASA’s deep space probes.
The International Space Station.
> Python borrowed from it.
> Java borrowed from it.
> JavaScript borrowed from it.
If you have ever written a single line of code in any language, you did it in Dennis Ritchie’s shadow.
He died in 2011.
The same week as Steve Jobs.
Jobs got the front pages.
Ritchie got silence.
This Legend deserves to be celebrated.
