I think the preferred candidate emerges either way. The consensus-building process is simply a polite way of telling you not to waste your kids’ school fees on a done deal, because those who initiate consensus talks usually already know who they want. Everything else is mere formality.
For political greenhorns, the consensus arrangement is also a form of intimidation. They know you are unlikely to protest the position of party excos, elders and financiers, and once you attempt to do so, you risk becoming a pariah.
I believe that friendships have phases. You grow closer in some seasons and grow apart in another. It may even reverse sometimes. What matters is honoring the close moments and not being an ass so that another day, you can still welcome that person with a genuine smile and hug.
Technology isn’t the end goal. It’s the enabler.
Over the last decade, I’ve worked on platforms across West Africa, from logistics networks to election monitoring systems.
One thing is clear. Every system we build shapes how millions of people live, work, and participate in their futures.
The conversation around African tech often focuses on the next unicorn.
But what about the systems that protect democratic participation?
What about platforms that safeguard the vulnerable?
What about infrastructure that makes our supply chains resilient?
That’s where real innovation lives.
So I’ll ask, what are you building with purpose this week?

Yesterday, I had the privilege of launching the new "Jigawa Agricultural Policy 2024 - 2030" aimed at transforming agricultural services and products in our dear state.
The main aims of the policy is to provides a strategic road map for productivity, creativity, and prosperity for our farmers. It is our belief that, one of the key to maximising the potential of our state, generating employment, and promoting economic progress is Agriculture.
We are introducing mechanisation and investing in irrigation infrastructures for increased productivity and efficiency.
I must use this opportunity to thank and appreciate our partners like Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office's (@FCDOGovUK) and Popcorn+ for there assistance and collaboration in the development of this policy.
I urge all stakeholders to come together, so that we can turn Jigawa into the centre of West African and Nigerian agro-industrial activity!
This policy shows our administration's dedication to openness and responsibility. Our commitment is to make sure that our policies represent the aspirations of our.
Jigawa will be great In Sha Allah.
